Trying to setup Nfusion
Hello,
Just purchased my nfusion box. Very new to the whole Free to Air deal.
I have my dish aimed, S is about 69-72, Q is 85+.
I have all the channels setup, looking for Bell Express, EPG lists them
I have the correct Satellite and am looking at the right bird in the sky
Have my Unit Hardwired to my Switchbox, which is hooked to a motorolla modem and the ISP is Shaw Highspeed
I used canyouseeme.org to search my IP. it cannot see port 80
Blue Screen flashes with i-off/n-on/p-off/emul-off
From what I can tell I think that my problem is the Port 80 issue. When replying please try and keep it as simple as possible. I only know what little I do from trying to search on the forum here. Lots of good information, but some of the language and terminology is beyond my experience.
Thanks,
Kaptainm
EDIT ***************
So I realized the I must be on after reading the sticky above. That was accomplished, tried to turn DHCP to Static, it had some numbers but wasn't working still and then I switched back to DHCP again. Settings were no where near what my IP was. IKS showed connected. I tried to look at the EPG and then IKS showed disconnected after that.
So as it sits now, I can see EPG, IKS is disconnected, Port 80 is not seen on canyouseeme.org, I-on/N-on/P-off/E-off, Internet is on DHCP, Bird matches the one that I'm aiming for (BEV), STB is hardwired through switch device to Motorolla modem, Shaw ISP.
If this is a Port 80 issue, please help me find a way around this.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
O.k go to Internet/Network Info. on the N-Fusion menu to see if the I.P addresses are all there and correct, if not you can enter them manually but first let me know if they are there? Also you can do a reboot , meaning shut down N-Fusion from back and go unplug router for 5sec. count then plug it back in and then turn on the N-Fusion and then do a Factory Default and rescan the antennas (110&119) or what ever you pick up. Also have you loaded the latest file (1.48)?
So anything yet, or are you still working on it? Just let me know if you need more help and if you don't understand what I have said?
Can you show me your Settings, like you ports and everything? Also if your I.P addresses are not what they should be you can do this, go to your computer and if you have an XP click Start>Run if you have a Vista click Start>Start Search and then type CMD and press enter. Then in the CMD window you will type IPCONFIG/ALL then press O.K., then you will write down all the I.P addresses and then go back to your N-Fusion. Go to Internet/Network Info. on the menu and switch to Static and enter the I.P addresses in manually, then switch back to DHCP. The I.P for the top line which will look like the I.P for the computer you will change the last 3 digits, so if it reads 192.168.001.101 you will change it to 102 or 100 and set to DHCP and exit out. Let me know if you understand everything and if your up and going.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
IP Addys are not there.
I have tried several reboots. What do you mean do a "Factory Default and rescan antenna's (110 & 119)"? The latest file has been loaded I believe, is there any way to check this. I had to take my receiver to a friends place to have it loaded because I am running a mac and didn't have the proper cable to plug into my comp. So if I have to update the file via comp then I can't do that today. I believe what was loaded was 147T
Also, it is now reading I-off/N-on/P-off/E-off/IKS disconnected.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
What I mean by Factory Defaults is go to System Settings second from the bottom and click on that, that will reset your system. Then you will turn off the N-Fusion from back then go and unplug the router for 5sec. count then plug it back in and go turn on the N-Fusion from back again. Then you will go ahead and redo your settings the way you had them, but make sure you have these OFF/Proxy/Emulator/Dolby Digital and set to DHCP. Then rescan your antennas like (110 &119) or what ever you pick up, also when you do the rescan make sure under Installation you have your antennas assigned their proper ports. Like I have 110 in port 1 and 119 in port 4 , other wise you won't pick up a signal. If i-off is showing that means your I.P address are most likely not there under Internet/Network Info. , so go there and see if they are there? It should read something similar:
192.168.001.101
255.255.255.000
192.168.001.001
255.255.255.255
Anyway do this and let me know where you stand, and I can help further and you should have file 1.48. Go to System Settings and S/W version and click on that and tell us what it says.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
As I eluded to in my prev post, I did not load it myself. Is there someway that I can update to 1.48 just using my STB or do I need to connect it to the comp?

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
Yes go to Internet and S/W upgrade and do it that way, it will go through its little download and then shut down and come back on. After this you will want to go to channel 100 or any free channel and keep guide on and hit Blue button on remote to repopulate the guide (EPG).

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
Sorry for the long reply, if you get back to this thread after the fights let me know.
I did the factory defaults reset, and put everything back to the way that it was set up before. My IP addys still aren't in there. Where would I obtain all of these from? Also, how do I know which antenna's I'm picking up?
Thanks for the help from you or others, I'll check back periodically throughout the night.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
You can tell which antennas your picking up by when you go to Installations and set the ports under DiSEqE you move to the right until see Echo Lock, the scan the channels just try 110 & 119 Echo. Also to get your I.P addresses go to your computer and if you have an XP click Start>Run if Vista click Start>Start Search and then type CMD and press Enter. Then in the CMD window type IPCONFIG/ALL and the hit O.K. , the write down all I.P addresses there and go back to your N-Fusion. Under Internet/Network Info. switch to Static and enter the I.P addresses in manually, the one you put in the top line will be the one for your computer accept that you will change the last 3 digits. So if the I.P reads 192.168.001.101 you will switch it to 100 or 102 and switch back to DHCP and exit out, the turn the N-Fusion off from back for 10sec. count then turn it back on and the go back to Internet/Network Info. to see if they are there and correct. Let me know where you stand, and I will check back in a bit.

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
I went to Installations to DiSEqE, and was able to bring up Port 1-4. But I'm not sure what you are talking about scrolling to the right until you see echo lock.
I get this
Disable > Echo 1 > Echo 2 > Echo 3 > Echo 4 > Disable, repeat.
Also, I have a Mac, running OSx Leopard. I tried help menu to find out how to see my IP, but can't? Once again, running Shaw ISP through a Motorolla modem.
Thanks for being so patient!

Re: Trying to setup Nfusion
The cables that are plugged into your dish should be marked which ports, so when you go through the ports wait until it says on the right upper corner Echo Lock. This means that, that is which port the cable is plugged. You should get a lock on one of them, sorry for asking but is this your completely first time having a F2A receiver? You have never owned one before, so you don't know which ports your cables to the dish are plugged?
