I'm really new to this so this may be simple but I am trying to learn. Here is my issue. I am using a regular Nfusion receiver and just set up a new dish 1000.2

I have one cable going from the first output of the lnb into my receiver. This is the Dish Pro Plus Tripple LNB. I scanned for 110 and 119 and had no problems getting them in. Why cant it find 129? Is there a setting I have to do or do I need one of those switch things? Like I said I am fairly new to this whole satellite thing so any help at all would be much appreciated. Me and my buddy tried everything to get in 129 but had no luck. I tried different settings and we just could not get it. It doesnt seem like there is a tripple LNB I can pick in the menu list for setting it up. I also just ordered the new Nfusion Nuevo, is this almost set up the same way? Thats why I got the 1000.2 because I guess I need that for HD correct? Thanks for you're time and like I said any help at all would be great!

129 is hd.dont know if you will do any good getting it with out a hd stb

Yes the nfusion HD will get 129. You will be a happy camper. Do not even bother trying to get 129 on your nova will not work. When you get your nw receiver it has an auto setup that will take most of the work out of it for you. As long as the dish is set rght you will be good to go.

Okay,

I understand that. But the nova receiver should still at least show a signal right? I know that I would not be able to watch 129 right now but I am just trying to get the signal in to make sure that I am all set up for when the Nuvenio comes in. Thanks again.

I have not done that before but if you have 110/119 setup then you can almost bet you got 129. You are trying to use the nove as a sat meter I think it will work.

excuse moa !!!!!!, your're wrong. i get echo 5 ( 129.0) in my nfusion nova. i get about 50 channels with a dish 1000.2, but of course not the hd channels. only the sd channels.

yes you will get SD channels from 129 but they are the same channels you will get from 119 or 110 or maybe I'm wrong agin

yes it will still show you signal but will not allow you to view HD channels (non hd reciever). if your sure that your aimed/skewed right try and check other tps for signal

Yeah I tried almost every setting and all of the lnb selections. I don;t even think the lnb selection makes a difference. I can put any lnb type and it will still get the 110 and 119. I don't even know why the have a menu to select a lnb type if it doesnt seem to make a difference. So if I don;t have a signal for 129 but i have a strong signal for 110 and 119 would you say that the dish is not pointed correctly? This does not require one of those disq switches does it? Thanks again everyone for the help.

Yes you can see that sat with a nova and a 1000.2 I tried it at my buds house. I don't remember 50 channels more like 12 but we are in Canada. My guess is that your skew is not correct. Either that or there is something in the way like a tree or power line that is preventing you from seeing the 129 sat.

Go to dishpointer.com. Put in your zip or postal code and use the drop down box to select the 1000.2 dish. Press the go button and it will give you the correct elevaton and skew. I would set these right to what it tells you. It is usually very very close. Then go back and forth on the azimuth till you find the signal. Only adjust the others slightly if you need to tweak the signal a bit.

By the way the dishpointer.com gives you a google map with your house on it and a green line with the correct Azimuth to the Sat.

i have same setup and no lock on 129 good signal on 110 & 119

Yeah. I'm not to sure what it could be. There is one tree that may be causing my issue so I am going to try and move the dish to the top of my house. I tried moving it where it was but I still could only get 110 and 119. I hope it works because my Nuevenio should be in on friday.

I installed one at my house yesterday. No Problem getting 129 and I am in Canada so the angle is low. I just went to dishpointer.com and punched in my Postal code and the dish 1000.2 and it gave me all the co-ordinates as well as a map with my house and a green line to the Sat. Plumbed the mast and set the Elevation and Skew before mounting the dish. Then just swung back and forth in the general direction of the Sat until I got a good tune on all 3 sats. Note that I did get 119 and 110 before I got 129. I suggest you look just for 129 and then see if the other 2 are not there.

Note that the first tune I did using a analog sat meter and 129 was not there. I then took a hand held TV and ran a 50ft cable to the video output of my Neosat since it has a very good meter for tuning. I then looked for the 129 found it and tuned for that. When I had finished I had a good tune on the other 2 also.

If you are tuning with an analog sat meter I suggest you find a way to tune with a reciever so you can tune while looking at it. It may be the only way for you to find 129. If you are already using this method then you must have an obstacle in the way. Dishpointer.com also contains a red obstacle marker. You can put it on your tree in the map and it will tell you the maximum height it can be and not hinder your reception.
