setting up motor/scanning Captain 7100
I am totally confused about putting keys in the Captain 7100. I have been able to get to where the keys go but that is where the confusion starts.
What is CAS Name?? Cas ID?? Provider ID?? Index ?? I also have these across the top of the screen ( Seca Idero Viacess1 Viacesss2 Nacra2 Conax and CR-Pto.
Each of these has a place to put keys in.
How do I know where to put the keys in and do I need to put the keys in everyone of these??
Please help!!!!

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
Just load the latest file for your receiver. That way you no need to enter the keys manually.
Here is the link for Captain 7100 file: http://www.abadss.com/forum/852-capt...tml#post339072

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
how did you setup and scan?
manual setup and scan? if so what kind of scan? are you sure the settings are correct?
or did you follow the wizard and do the OBS?
(thread moved to cap 7100 help section)

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
once that file is loaded.
all you need to do is follow this guide.(factory default first)
http://www.abadss.com/forum/851-capt...zard-pics.html
your not getting any results, because you just didn't know what to insert in each of those steps, thats all.
once we know your hardware i can help you fill in the correct info.
you just have to know a few basics about what you have is all.
for example.do you have a dish 500 with a fat looking lnb on it? a line straight from the dish to the receiver with no switches?
(thats most common)
if you have a dtv dish and i9ts still pointed at dtv,you wont get anything.

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
I have a Captain 7100 receiver, DS2076-76cm Dish, QPH-031 Quad Polar LNBF,
and a SG-2100 motor (and a wife that’s really getting on my nerves about now)
I set my dish up on NIMIQ 2 82 W. That is almost due south for me. The settings I am on now are : DiseqC switch – motor, DiseqC input – Port 1, LNB Frequency – Standard,
LNB/High/Low- 10750, Sid Search – Disable, TP frequency – 11836(V) 20785, 22 KHZ Tone – Disable, Network search – disable, Search Type – All, and Legacy SW – off.

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
oh! sorry buddy, didn't notice your name.ok your the guy with the motor.
ok.totally forget about the guide and obs.lol
delete all your channels before you do this
ok adjust your settings to look like this:
Diseqc switch – motor,
Diseqc input – off.
LNB Frequency – 11250,
LNB/High/Low- ----------
Sid Search – enable
TP frequency – 12224(V) 20000,
22 KHZ Tone – Disable,
Network search – disable,
Search Type – quick,
and Legacy SW – off.
then you should see quality on the bottom.
look up top and it should read bev 82
press the red button if so.(if it doesn't do not scan.)
wait for channels to scan in.
all of this is based on IF you correct setup your motor controls first of course.in that motor screen section.

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
oh ooopsy wait lol
sorry about that.
how do you have your Invacom lnb setup?
did you plug in one of the C and one of the L ports into a switch?
if you are just connected stright for now,be sure its plugged into one of the C (circular) ports right now.
if you did in fact plug each C and L into a diseqc 4x1 make sure to turn on the diseqc to match its port see what i mean?
Diseqc input – #. ----------- you will want this on once your diseqc is plugged in.lets say outside you plugged the C port of the invacom into port #1 ok.
this will be set to port # 1 for all your circular birds.
now when you go to hit lets say 123w latter on.you would set that to diseqc port 2 see?
cus outside you plugged a port L into port 2.this port will then be for all your L (linear birds) see?

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
OK ... I have completed all the above and do have channels. When I try to watch them it says no signal or scrambled. I am assuming they are scrambled since the quality meter on the bottom right is almost pegged. What am I doing wrong here???
BTW thanks for all the help, I have got futher tonight in an hour than I did in the last 3 days!

Re: Putting Keys in Captain 7100
well,i dunno about the other birds.they where also likely not setup correctly before scanning.
1.lets get you cleaned up.
press menu-CHANNEL EDITING-channel list.press the red button once.select delete all.exit.say yes to save.
2.go back into dish settings.
setup nimiq2 82.0w like listed up top there.once your motor is all set,and those settings are in correctly.look for quality on the bottom.then look up top by the clock.make sure it reads bevs82
then and only then, press the red button to auto scan.wait for it to complete.
3.exit to a channel.do not touch anything.wait for a up to 20 mins.(should just take around 5) and see what happens then buddy.

how long have you been waiting on one channel?(without changing channels)
also,82w has allot of HD channels.be sure your not on one of those.
