captain 7100 usb pic - ABA DSS

I believe this question is for people that have the captain 7100 usb and cnx mini. Of all the reviews on the captain 7100 usb I read, which isn't many, their pic was sharper or crisper, than the mini. I only have the mini, which has a good pic but considering the captain with it's iks. Would like to read feedback, on this subject, by the owners. Thanks

captain and cnx mini comparison.
ok,lets see here.

firstly.as you know,the mini is pretty cool.she sure doesn't take any prizes for looks.lets face it,that thing looks very cheap,until you turn it on.thank goodness there,she has a nice menu system etc.

the captains appearance is very cool looking in person.its like a real dark gray.
the remote is much nicer as well.
the captain is quite a bit more powerful and faster unit than the mini.
she also has twice the ram of the mini 32 vrs 64mbs with the 7100
far as my personal results,pic quality is of little contest.neusat/captain are known for simply the best pic quality.the mini doesn't compete here.not my personal results anyway.
you don't have that auto channel reverting with the captain.scroll around all you want in the epg,when you press exit,you stay where you are.
a nicer search by theme system setup.
a much faster and easier installation as well.
obs is very user friendly.and fast.
and of course,the option of the dongle for even more things.
its just an all around higher end unit.
still made in Korea but lower costs at same time with a 5 year warranty.
it doesn't have pvr like the mini.
but since you have a mini,well you don't need 2 pvr systems anyway.

yeah buddy.you try this one out and you may find yourself using it more than the mini.

I was hoping that Arb would jump in on this topic. I can't remember who's review, for the captain, mentioned the pic difference. I read the review here and hardware wise, awfully close to the neo 2000. One dealer has them for 90.00, which sounds good, for that fast of a receiver. Hopefully, by the end of this year, their iks system will be running smoothly wide open. The race is on now for a dependable stable system getting all channels, other than nfusion. Maybe this competition will push the coders to new limits for their receivers. Thanks for the quick reply and link.

you bet buddy.anytime.
if you can grab a captain 7100usb for around 130 or so,or even lower,don't even think twice about it.once you have it,you will see why i can say this with confidence.
when you grab one and try it out,be sure to post what you think of it so others can know about these.a few options goes a long way.all it will take is a few us us testing these and passing on the word of what these units really are so people know for sure they are a great option in deed.

Since I got you here, Arb, what is the difference between dongle and neo pro adapter? Are they not just basically external ethernet ports for these receivers? Each brand would have it's own software in their files, to recognize, operate the info received through the net and implement their system of iks. I'm sure you won't have any trouble in clarifying the difference between the two. Thanks for info to date.

ah im not that tech savvy to read up on the difference.
basically they are just adapters to connect the units to the net,and in each adapter the needed serial/and or encrypted info to get that unit access to their server is in them.
but i dunno any real advantage disadvantage is has if any over the other.
someone else may join in with details,but in the end,same results,unit hooked to gain access to the server.
