VS9000HDv2 Picture Options?
Just wondering if is possible to get any better picture quality than 480i on the VS9000HDv2? I have checked all the menus and don't see where I could possibly change it to 480p (at least...).
We have a 50" plasma HDTV, STB is connected w/composite cables and we are watching DN on 119 for now.

You'll need the HD module add-on in order to see HD channels from DN

Yes, I realize that, but what about regular SD channels? Is 480i as good as it gets?

Re: VS9000HDv2 Picture Options?
You also need to use the HDMI port/cable to get a resolution above 480i. It will give you the 720i, 1080i where available. You still also need the HD module add-on to convert to MPEG4 turbo mode. This will be needed for most of the HD channels within the next couple of months you can check on lyngsat.com to verify which channels are using MPEG4 now.

Yes, 480i is the best to expect on sd . Anything higher is hi-def. If you set-up B$v you will get 720 but for charlie, you know what to do. Get the add-on module.

Also you want 110 not 119 for hd on charlie. 129 is much better for hd at the moment.

Hey beezzzz3 I have detailed pics of the install process of the add on card if you need them when you get the card. I have them up on some other FTA sites and they have been very helpful. If you need them let me know, I will be more than happy to post them or email you them.

Re: VS9000HDv2 Picture Options?
I hope your using at least component cables(red, blue, green) or HDMI. Those are the only way to get HD from B3V or Charlie. You also need 82 for B3V. 480p is still not hi-def, but alas, it is better than 480i. The first post mentioned composite cables(yellow, red, white) which will not give hi-def at any time.
