How to fix corrupt sat files & transponder lists
Download a fresh copy of the latest bin.. extract to your hard drive, copy to the flashdrive.. then factory default your receiver. Install the fresh downloaded copy as normal on your unit and set your antenna settings. Go to channel scan, turn network on, go to the transponder list.. verify theres only one of each transponders (duplicates on DN are fine as long as one is DVB and the other is TURBO8). If this is not the case, use the editor with following instructions and remove the duplicate transponders.. once again , two the same is NOT a dupe if one is TURBO8 and one is DVB.
Once you have done this, highlight the first transponder in the list with Q and hit ok to scan.. save , exit, watch tv.. it should be fine.
If a factory default doesn't work:
Grab loader .6 off the viewsat main site (viewsatusa.com) .. it is in fact an editor, not a loader as such... install on your computer then do this:
On the 9000, go sysinfo, receiver upgrade, all, usb, start, transer ok.. this will put the files on your usb stick in a directory...
Then you can load the *.cha (channel file) in the editor and do what you want with it.
If you want to put your creation back on the viewsat, here are the steps:
Go to, sysinfo, receiver upgrade, usb, select *.cha (or sat),ok then wait for boot and reboot again, then do a network scan as above for each bird.
NB!!! It is no longer necessary, nor adviseable to delete transponders when doing a network scan. If you want a complete new channel list, use the F3 function in channel edit to delete all channels on one or more birds, or , as I do, just rescan, turn off autoTP and edit out dupes.. I do this because BEV especially doesn't broadcast all channels all the time, and I don't want to delete ones I have scanned that are currently off air.
