Need help on factory reset on a cw700
I just got a used cw700, it only came with some written notes and some old files and bins on a usb stick. I have infusions in my home so I really dont know what Im doing with the whole factory reset thing. I tried it with the notes and files it came with (not knowing any better) and I could not get it to work correctly. I need to start all over and get this box working today.
I have the lastest bin, but I do not know what to do to do a reset situation. I have a DN dish, a dual lnb, cw700 box and in central texas. I had another box loaned to me and it worked perfectly, so I know that the sat is set right, they were on 119,110 I think.
Im know how to input all the info, just dont know in what order and what to input on the factory reset. So if someone could please walk me through this. This is for my office, and I have my kids this weekend and I have to work all weekend. They have to hang out with me at my office all day so having some cartoons make it much more easily for me and them.......
Thanks so much!!!!

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
Welcome to aba...if its and older version of the 700 do a facatory default then scan your satellites. Then install bin 1.93. Follow the instructions carefully. It will ask you to enter the serial number which is on the bottom of the box. After you install it it will ask you for serial number again. Enter it and when done enter latest bin. When done press f1000 to enable patch. Should be good then. Maybe this can help some:

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
The antenna settings will be the same as your other receivers as long as the dish and lnb's are the same. Download a copy of the latest file onto your computer then put an extracted copy of the file onto your usb, then use the menu system to load the file onto your receiver. You will likely need to re autoscan the sats if you've done a factory reset.

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
Im getting to spend a little time on this this morning. A question that I have now is when I try to scan the sat, I get 2 pop up questions:
Scan for FTA channels only? Yes or No
Delete the existing program? Yes or No
Thanks!
You guys are the best!

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
I was trying to get the box working before I did a factory reset by just uploading the lastest bin and scanning but it seems that its not going to work. Dummy me left my usb stick at home with all the files on it to do the factory reset so I will have to wait till tonight to do anything else today.
On a side note, I have a buddy thats selling a (working now) cw700 for $50.00. Do you think its worth buying? I just keep hearing that everything is going N3 and these boxes may not be working pretty soon. Im just wondering if its worth buying because of this......
Thanks again...

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
n3 is coming for sure and there will be some down time when it gets here.
my opinion is that these boxes will be back up, its just a matter of how long.

Up to you to do what you want but CW700 is an excellent receiver with good support. If someone wanted to sell me a working one for 50 bucks I'd buy it as long as its not a clone...just my opinion. Like I said its your decision.

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
Thanks to you guys- I got it up and running yesterday mid-day. The EPG is not working, but I think thats because I didint enter my location(?) but I will look it to that today. The kids got to watch cartoons almost all day. They still fought with each other and bothered me all day, but it would have been worse without the cartoons.
Many thanks to all you helped, Im sure I will need you help again in the future!

Re: Need help on factory reset on a cw700
Leave it on ch 200 & the epg should populate. You will have to enter your location also so your time is right on the epg. Go to menu, channel manager, timers, & you can set your location there.
