Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
thanks but I have a real 700 unit
Also, how can we do a factory default when nothing comes on but the red light? I've tried a forced boot,(holding the power button while flipping the back switch to on), but nothing. The only thing that shows on the tv screen is black....

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
To load a factory file you will need to use the serial cable and the loader program, not the usb thumbdrive.

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
thanks I didn't know that. Since I've never had to use the boot loader, exactly how do ya do that. I have the program, have the factory bin, not sure which port but I can try em all till I get the right one, but do I start the loader with reciever off then turn on or just when it is on? Thanks for the help

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
Found this out there.
1) Connect your PC and receiver with twisted RS-232C Null modem cable.
2) Plug in the power supply cord of your receiver to the power source and leave your receiver turned OFF.
3) You can load bin file using two methods “boot” Mod and "Standby" Mod. If you want to load the software using
"Standby" Mod go to #4. Standby Mod is recommended method to load bin file
because it is faster and safe.
4) Turn receiver Off from the back and then ON the receiver; Once it has
rebooted; now press "POWER" key on front of the receiver panel to bring it to standby, the LED display
will display “- - : -
-“.
5) Start Loader CW800SUpgradeV1.02.exe
6) Press File Icon beside File Box and select the Latest bin file you downloaded from the Company
website “CW800V1.XX_date.bin".
Now Press Open or Press Enter key on your keyboard to load file in your loader.
You can
7) Now its time to start loading the software, Press Start button on the loader and the upgrade will
begin.

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
Tried that, only thing that shows is the red light, nothing displays at all, only the red light. On the loader, 0% is it, it never goes beyond that...

download s/w should be highlighted. Were you able to get it in boot mode or standby mode.

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
on the cp I have connected, I have no usb ports , I am using the 9pin serial cable connect that came with the 700 unit. I also tried via my laptop with the same cable connected to the back of the 700 unit with a connector on the other end and run into one of my usb ports on my laptop, since I have no 9 pin connector on the laptop, still, no effect?

Your laptop won't work unless you installed the driver that came with the usb adapter

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
Try turning the switch off on the back & as soon as you turn it on hit start on the loader. Try this several times & if you get the timing right you might get it to load

Re: Please Help!! red light power on, but no channel display
Thanks for all the suggestions, I tried everything, nothing works. Don't want to bash a company but, I contacted only to get told that if I return it for $25 shipping, and if it is found to be a software issue, then the repair would more than likely be double that, if not and it is found to be defective, then they'd replace it but I'd still have to pay shipping. Heck that is more than 1/4 the price I paid for the unit new, 8 days ago!!! If I can't fix it I guess I'll just junk it and not buy from that cp again. I have an old pansat that works fine,,, shezzzzz
