A Newbie Question
Hi Friends, I have a newbie question.
I have a CW700S, and a 36" FTA dish. Apparently, from my STB satellite menu, I can tell that the dish is currently pointed to 110 bird. I want to switch the direction to point to the 119 bird. According to the info that I was able to find, the elevation between two birds should be about the same. However, when I swing the dish over from 90+W to 180-W, I couldn't get any signal that STB would recognize as the 119 bird. Can someone enlighten me on this?
Well, I would like to land on 119, because I think there are more channels available on 119. Also, I'd like to catch 118.7 as well. I do have a low-freq circular LNB to receive 118.7.
Thanks in advance for your helps!

Re: A Newbie Question
To get both 119&118.7 you will need a lnb that is both circular and linear
you will only be able to get both 110 and 119 if you have 2 lnb's on your dish...
hope this helps

Re: A Newbie Question
Thanks for your reply. Actually, I don't want to get both 119 and 110. I want to drop 110 and get 119 only. However, I have trouble finding 119 on the blue sky... And... 118.7 requires low freq circular LNB, not linear, I believe.
Is 119 hard to find? I don't believe so, but I have trouble to get signal.
Thanks again.

Re: A Newbie Question
Move the dish down a couple of degrees I.E from 32 to 30, then if your standing behind the dish move it to the right. Best thing to do is move it down a degree or two and move it very slow, if you don't get anything move it down and pan back the other way. Leave the stb on trans 12239 to check for signal.

Re: A Newbie Question
yes you are correct about the dual frequency lnb...
do you only have 1 lnb on your dish?
at any rate the other bird should be a matter of adjusting you dish a few inches to the left and i believe the bird is just slightly higher in the sky as well

Re: A Newbie Question
Thank you, Bobo & Tatoo for your feedback. Yes, I only have 1 LNB on my FTA dish. I'll give it another try soon, and let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

Thank you all! I found the 119 bird just at the location that you indicated. Sorry for my late update on this. I got busy for a few days... Thanks again!
