Scrambled channels for Anik-F3 (118.7)
Hi, I run into a strange situation. I hope someone who is familiar with this issue can help me out.
Following is my hardware:
STB - CW700S
Dish - 36" FTA dish with one LNB hookup
LNB - circular LNB with low freq range for 118.7
I am getting quite good signal levels and signal qualities for both 119 bird and 118.7 bird. STB is able to ID both birds. When I scan both birds, the channels from both birds scanned well. For 118.7, most channels are international channels.
The problems that I am seeing are:
1) Channels from 119 bird can be watched (not scrambled), meanwhile channels from 118.7 bird are scrambled.
2) On the channel list, often that 118.7 channels are listed under 119 channel listing. However, when I go to those particular 118.7 channels, the channel list correctly indicates those channels are associated with 118.7 bird.
I also tried to delete all channel list, and scan 118.7 bird only. Then,
a few scenarios would happen.
3) During scanning, channels showed up on screen (over 90 channels). But after scranning completion, no channel is recorded in the 118.7 bird channel listing.
4) 118.7 channels would mistakenly show up under another bird's name. It's usually the first bird on the satellite listing (148 bird). If I delete 148 bird, then these channels would be listed under the next bird on the list.
In those cases, those channels are associated to the wrong satellite signal trace, so the level would be high, but there is no signal quality. (As a note, if I go back to 118.7, most of the TP's have good signal quality.)
5) Often, then first channel scanned can be watched (not scrambled). But as soon as I flip the channel to go to another one, I can not go back to the previous channel. That channel simply would disappear. And other scanned channel would not show up as well.
Sorry, I ran into many situations, and I am trying to list them all. For now, at least I can get channels from 118.7 and 119 listed together under 119 channel list. But, the 118.7 channels are scrambled. Does 118.7 channels have a special scrambling method? My situation is that I am only using one feed from my one LNB. My LNB does have two outputs. I am not sure if I should try to use DISEQC switch and connect two signals together. Maybe I should assign one to 119, and the other to 118.7.
Please share your experience with me if you ran into similar issue before.
Thanks a lot!!

Re: Scrambled channels for Anik-F3 (118.7)
Thanks for the suggestion. I resolved the problem. I found a suggestion from another site that I can try to add the TP's of 118.7 to 119 TP listing. Afterwards, just do a single scan of 119 bird. The result was good! Now I can see all the channels I care about on 118.7. I am happy! ^_^
Have a wonderful 4th!
