New 700, having the usual start up problems, HELP anybody!
OK, I anxiously opened the box containing my new CW700 this morning after UPS arrived. I dould not do much before tonight, tied up trying to bring money into the house.............so I can purchase CW700's.
Here is where I am. I HAVE A SCRAMBLED WARNING and that is all I see. Does the 700 have an autoroll option??? If so, how do I get to it.
Now for a darker side, how do I manually enter new keys??
Thanks--

i know with cw800 you need to press F1 on the remote then enter all zero's i think. that will unlock your missing features.

NO, that didn't work but I am making progress!!!! Found how to get the auto roll functioning, no tv yet but its probably rolling as I type.
THERE ARE TWO OBNOXIOUS LIGHTS, ONE RED THE OTHER GREEN ON THE FRONT OF THE STB!!! Is there any way to dim or turn these #$%^& things off??? I might have to get a piece of electrical tape to put over them. Still don't know how to set the keys manually though.

"those lights!!!" - couldn't agree more - why they choose to use 2 mega bright led's for power & signal, i have no idea!.
They bugged me also - my solution was to dig up an old pair of very dark sunglasses and popped out one of the lenses and with a couple drops of super glue i have managed to significantly dim them.
Anyway as for the unit itself - it's a pretty easy setup - just remember to do the patch thingey
i've had tv with this unit uninterrupted since it arrived a few months ago - by setting it up to receive dn 110 & 119 and also bev 91, to the best of my memory i have not lost tv at all.
Rarely does both dn and bev go down at the same time - so if dn goes i just tune in bev and vice versa - on top of that the coders for this box provide excellent support and usually have fixes out within hours of an ecm.
