European reception
WOW! There certainly is a lot of information to learn/absorb in this FTA hobby. I can see why there are so many stickies and faqs. Thanks to the powers-that-be for tolerating all of the repetitive and sometimes stupid questions.
Here's another one for you. I have a CW-700S and it is receiving from 110° and 119°. I am more than happy with the reception and the number of channels but I was wondering what would be required to receive channels from Britain. Is it possible? I know that people can get channels from all over the world but I'm not clear on how this is done. Does a satellite hovering over Europe receive the signal from the ground, transmit it to a satellite over N.A. and then down to our dishes? If I'm located in the Toronto/Buffalo area which satelite would I have to aim at to get channels like BBC, ITV and SKY from Britain? Am I correct in assuming that I would need another small dish and receiver? Would they be pointed to the east?
