No Signal
My captive works 700 was working fine. All of a sudden I got scramble channels and the problem is that I am not getting any signal strength on my receiver. I checked every conection and they're fine. Can someone help me fix my receiver.

Re: No Signal

Re: No Signal
I have checked my settings and still nothing happens, I've even taken my receiver to a friends house where he has a captive works and tried looking for a signal changing my settings but I had no luck. Strenght stays in 1% and does not move at all. How do I do a Hard Reboot?

Re: No Signal
hard reboot is with back switch

Re: No Signal
A hard reboot is turning power off using the switch in the back. Looks like you did that when you went to your friends house.
Make sure you are connecting cable to the LNB in coax and not the loop out.
When you say strenght, do you mean signal or quality?
If your signal strength is bad, then it is a connection/LNB/switch problem. If you have good signal strength (> 50%) and your quality strength is low, then it is either a dish pointing problem or a setup problem.
Let us know what your signal and quality strengths are and we can go from there.

Re: No Signal
Quality reads 0%
Strenght reads 1%
I don't think it es a pointing problems because my friends captive works works just fine. I've done hard reboot and also a factory default and nothing has happened. I'm still getting no signal. Cable is connected to the coax. I have also loaded the new bin and still nothing.
Thanks for your help

Re: No Signal
Your LNB is not working, need to try another one to see if that is the problem.

Re: No Signal
Since it didn't work on your neighbor's dish either, I would check the coonection where your LNB plugs into your receiver. Try a different connector and make sure nothing has broken off insife your connection

Re: No Signal
I agree with basscat. Looks like you may have a short in your cables. Swap out the cable between the LNB and the receiver and see if there is any difference.
At your friends house, did you use your cable or your friends? If you just took your box and hooked it to your friends setup and it did not work, then there is something wrong either with your box or your setup. Check LNB setup to make sure your LNB type is correct.
Match your installation setup exactly as your friends and use his setup to see if your works, if you have not tried this already.

Re: No Signal
I am actually using the same cables for a working box. The only thing I did was that I turned off his receiver and plugged mine in and mine did not work. I have changed the set up in and it has not received signal in any setup.
Thank you

Re: No Signal
Definetly sounds as though you have an issue with your receiver.
