Dead CW700 after .bin 195 (READ THIS)

This process will only work if you have an original CW700 unit that was screwed up after/by loading bin 1.95

*** IF IT DOESN'T WORK I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE ***

A little bit of background first, in an attempt to stop clone circulations, Bin 1.95 was released, to show message "Clone unit, Contact your dealer".

Unfortunately in the attempt kill Clones, CW killed some of own ORIGINAL units, especially ones with 10 digit serial numbers, understandabley, this pissed off many of their customers.

To Fix this issue

1) Download the following file:

CW700S_V1.02_2008_11_24.zip (see below, at bottom of post)

2) Unzip and save to Desktop
3) Then Copy file to USB Stick
4) Load this new factory file using RCU (remote control unit) from your USB stick (yes the file from the .zip file above).
5) Do factory settings, STB will reboot (OK) again
6) Load the new factory file using RCU from the USB stick (yes twice)
7) Do factory settings, STB will reboot (OK)
8) Now load fix 1.96

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

Receiver will do Serial number check. i.e., it will ask you for Serial number.

ENTER ONLY 9 DIGITS serial number NOT 10, as an example:
If your S/N on the receiver reads: CW7S0832089764
Enter CW7S083208976

So what you are actually doing is NOT entering the last digit.

Afterwards, it will ask again for you to enter Serial number to confirm, and Receiver will then Reboot - Scan your Satellite- Press exit to go to channel - Channels will be scrambled.

Turn off unit, and load latest .bin file and then enable patch as usual via F1 and then 000

Wait for TV picture, if takes a long time, reboot receiver from back power button i.e.,. on/off via rear switch then Watch TV.
