Dead 9200
Yesterday morning, I loaded the new bin for 9200 did a scan for all satellite then switch to CNN channel and waited for picture, turned-off receiver and TV but leave the 9200 on, then I got back home in the afternoon the receiver is dead. I tried to reset the rocker switch and no power. I have a fan installed since I purchase the 9200 last year and it was not turning on. Basically a dead power supply. Anyone had these problem before? Any tips how to revive the receiver?
Thanks in advanced.

Re: Dead 9200
Have two of these receivers, never had that problem. I am not sure if there are any fuses inside on the AC line. If you are not afraid to open the receiver I would look inside to verify if there are any fuses. I would also verify the AC outlet that you are useing.

Re: Dead 9200
I will open the receiver again to check with the fuse. I open last night to vacuum all the dust in the receiver. I do not see any obvious that would cause the box to be dead. I tried to plug in to a different AC outlet then turn on the rocker switch and nothing. I had the box almost over two years.

I am doing some research to see if anyone has had this problem but i can not find anything. ok do you have a 8psk module installed? and if you do could you remove it and try to restart your receiver. make sure you unplug from wall before you try this. if that does not work then you may have a bad power supply. i had the same problem a few weeks ago on my sonicview 8000 my power supply went bad. no power no nothing.

I'm still at work, so I call pansat and they said I have to ship the box to them since the way I'm describing is a dead power supply.

Re: Dead 9200
Well the only thing with that is , when you send it back to them is not suppose to have any third party software. Just something to think about, cause it will void warranty.

I tried what have you suggested still no luck but then I pull out the connection for the rocker switch to the circuit board then put it back. Walla, it turn on. At this time it was plug directly to the wall. Then as soon as I put everything back together plug to the power strip, the box would not turn on again.AHHH!!!!
Thanks for the tip, though.

Okay, I unplug the 8psk module power then plug into wall outlet..viola...it power on. I bought the illuminati 8psk when it first came out from the only buyer at the time in OC, do I still have warranty? Does it mean I have a bad 8psk? Thanks.

Re: Dead 9200
Still having the problem and I think it's the Illuminati board. When I turned-off the rocker switch all night and in the moring it will not turned-on. I have to open the box and unplug the power connection from the 8psk while power cable unplug from the wall. The turned on the rocker switch viola back to FTA.....my question is it the Illuminati or the power cable connection from the Illuminati to the power board the culprit here?

Re: Dead 9200
Hello sorry have not got back to you in a while, was out of town. now if you take out the 8psk module and the receiver powers up, then the 8psk module is bad. now, if it is an older module then it should be a 2 part module, the newer modules are just a one single piece module and are suppose to be better. as far as your warranty for your module i do not know.

Re: Dead 9200
The other thing that you may want to try is to do a better job in "ISOLATING YOUR PROBLEM" If you pull out the Ill board leave it out over-night and see how the Panny reacts. You are trying to trouble shoot a problem by looking at too many variables at the same time. Eliminate one thing at a time, then when you find the culprit, you can be sure you have found the right culprit.
