Can the Pansat 9200 be used for BISS?
Hey long time lurker, finally am saying hi! Is there any way that the pansat 9200 can be used to decrypt Biss? There is a certin FTA feed on every week (IE: Monday) that is allways BISS encrypted.. I would like to be able to view it, as well as other BISS encrypted material. Waddya Think?

The solution depends on the channel and satellite. Search Internet for BISS Keys and then do some reading on how to use it in the PanSat.

Re: Can the Pansat 9200 be used for BISS?
Basic Interoperable Scrambling System, usually known as BISS, is a satellite signal scrambling system developed by the European Broadcasting Union and a consortium of hardware manufacturers.
Prior to its development, "ad-hoc" or "Occasional Use" satellite news feeds were transmitted without any encryption. This allowed anyone with the correct equipment to view the program material. Using BISS the transmission is protected by a 12 digit "session key" that is agreed by the transmitting and receiving parties prior to transmission. The key is entered into both the encoder and decoder , this key then forms part of the encryption of the digital TV signal and only receivers with the correct key will decrypt the signal.
Hope that helps.

Re: Can the Pansat 9200 be used for BISS?
Thanks Yes, I know what biss is, I just need to figure out what firmware to update the pansat with so I can enter biss keys and view the programming, I also have found a program that can find the biss keys (that might take forever) Thanks everyone for your help. If you can point me in the right direction that would be great.
