Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
Hello everyone. WHO STILL USES THERE PANSAT9200 HD.i purchased my pansat 9200 a little over a year an 4 months ago. man when i got this receiver i was so exited. finally fta hd. Yes. but this receiver has gave me to many problems to be my main receiver. the notorious blue screen and no picture just sound. i am not bashing this receiver, because believe it or not i still use it , even after i got a sonicview hd, viewsat hd and nfusion hd. one thing about the pansat is when the hd picture comes in man it is a wonderful Picture, one of the best hd pictures out there. support has been pretty good but the receiver to buggy.i still use and enjoy it with lots of frustration. So i was just wondering who still uses this receiver and how it has been working out for you. Take Care everyone. Ps:Ii never got the dvr to work with this receiver.

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
My brother and many friends of mine have the 9200HD...Everyone seems to love it ! My Brother is the only one out of the bunch who has the "blue screen issue" sound with no pic...In combination with his sony wega 50" tv the picture is truly Amazing!!!
And one friend built an HDD unit (enclosure w/hard drive) but can't get it working successfully... What kind of HDD did you use eclipse ??
I just posted a similar thread awhile ago about this receiver..

I bought this 9200 about 6 month ago but it never really worked: after turn on the machine for 30 min, the machine is freezing! have to turn it off, wait couple of hours then turn it on, you have 30 min can watch again, repeat and repeat...

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
i just want to comment that when i bought my 9000 im guessing around 2 years ago now i thought it was true hd ...well i find out its not and true hd theres much more involved .. for ex with the 9000 some kind of 8psk board has to be installed inside the box and also you need a separate dish on your roof to be pointing at "true" hd channels which are not on 8.10 or 7 . id like to also comment that the box didnt work bad though until recently and i too have a sony 52" but recently i also get volume SOMETIMES and no picture i tried hdmi cable to my sony receiver and then back out to tv via hdmi cable , i tried direct from stb box to tv via hdmi cable and i tried with audio video cables and been giving me same problem audio but no video .. and before you tell me to check my hdmi cables i did and there brand new ..hmmm so not sure what to do now ?

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
Well gentle persons, I have two of these receivers. I to experienced the blue screen problem for a while but no longer have it. I also have a 52" Sony Hd TV and the picture is great. I have sent each of the receivers to Panarex to get the PVR working. Although the PVR does not have a great deal of features it does work. You may not be aware that SATA cables comes in more than one flavor. make sure that you get a Sata 1 cable not a Sata 2 cable. My pvr consists of an external Sata enclosure with a 500 GB WD drive, works fine, never locks up. The other nice thing about the Panny 9200 is that when we are unable to test for one reason or another, you can use the built in ATSC Tuner to view over-the-air HD.

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
I've had 2 of the 9200hd's for a year or so. One had the freezing up problem and now the other has picture and no sound. I cannot figure it out. I also have to wait for about a minute for the picture to come in after the scramble message is displayed. Not the best receiver for sure.

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
It worked fine in the beginning but the support has decreased immensely for all the Pansats unfortunately. Blue screen..............lol I still see blue everywhere and have to wear color glasses to filter out the blue colors.

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
I had a problem recently with the 9200 wherein it would not power I thought I have to ship it to Panarex but I got it fix by pulling out 8psk then reset the rocker switch connection to the board then it's back to normal except it need a new bin.
For the picture or sound issue maybe it's the 8psk try resetting the connection in the board.
Also, what bird or HD channel are you getting from true FTA?

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
I got mine in Dec. 2008. I love it, the pictures & sound wow, like watching blueray movies....... Sometimes it takes a while to show the hd channel (blue screen)but it is working, I think it is the disecq switching capability....... Other than that it's great........ I am only using Pansat rec. I got P2500A/P2700A/P3500S/SD & P9200HD, never tried other brand yet. I never had a problem with my P rec. The only thing now is when we're down, almost all other brand has the new bin available, but our Pansat has not....... wondering why!!!!!!! Hope it will come out soon!!!!!!!

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
The 9200 is a nice piece of hardware. I actually have two of them although 1 needs to go back to the factory for repair. I couldn't watch the fight, on the 9200 due to freezing, yet my nfusion hd worked perfectly, and still does!

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
I still use mine. When I first got it I to was getting the freezing after watching for awhile. I noticed it gets pretty warm. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a fan that just sits on top of it and blows air into it. After that no problems, no blue screen, channels come right in, even the HD channels. So my conclusions of most of the problems are contributed from heat. Since the cooling situation, no problems what so ever. I thought I would share that bit of info to everyone.

Re: Who Still Uses There Pansat9200Hd
*** Listen to kozuch *** I have been a Test Engineer for computer products for 29 years now. I bought my 9200 around end of 2007 start of 2008. I started experiencing freezing problems also. So began the test regiment. After only a couple of hours I was able to reproduce at will, the freeze. I then focused a small fan (CPU cooling fan) to blow onto the board (in the area of the cpu). It didn't take but 10-15 seconds before thesystem became unfroze and worked flawless as long as I had the fan on it. Remove the fan, freeze in about 30 seconds. Sounds to me like they need to implement an Engineering Change (EC). I did. and have never had a problem since (except when new code is required. I'm running my 9200 along with Over-The-Air(OTA) local channels, thru a Yamaha Theater receiver on up to a Optoma projector onto a 7.5ft. diagonal screen (home built)... and the picture is GREAT! Also testing Coolsat 6100, the old 2500 true Pansats/Pandora clone/Pantec clones... all working fine (except when code is needed (HINT HINT !!!!).
