Diseqc toasted
I got a 4x1 diseqc switch with my receiver and I guess it doesn't work with a dish pro plus lnb and a dish pro dual.
Was a coolsat 4x1 Fq 950-2400 mhz insertion loss 3db power passing 500mA max diseqc 2.0.
My receiver only puts out 450mA max So I can't see how i would have overloaded it.
Before I burn up another diseqc can I safely run a dish pro quad and a dish pro dual? Or are diseqc's only for legacy and dtv lnb's?
I know it works but apparently not with a pro plus quad.
I had dp out 1 to diseqc lnb1, dp out 2 to diseqc lnb2 and one of the dp dual to diseqc 3.
All worked yesterday but was smoked today on the plus.
I tried another diseqc that came with a friends dish and it works with the dual pro and quad pro but I don't want to leave it if it will burn it up.
Is my only option running 3 sats to get a dp44 sw with a power inserter?

Re: Diseqc toasted
Your lnbs if the are dp pro's have their own built in switches.

Re: Diseqc toasted
tb is correct but it sounds like your trying to combine the 2 dishes together. if you have 2 dishes with 3 or 4 lnbs you can still use the diseqc switch, you have to put the first coax out from dish 1 to port 1 and connect a second cable from the lnb out to port 2, then on the second dish, put a wire from port 1 to port 3 on the switch and the 4th lnb on port 4.

Re: Diseqc toasted
So you can't use a diseqc with any dish pro lnb's?
What switches can you use to combine dish pro satellites? Just DN brand?
I have a couple others, Will a zinwell wide band 6x8 multi-sw WB68 will work.
All I see on it is dtv approved. And I have an old zinwell 4x4 multiswitch too.
All the lnbs I currently have are the following
Quad Dish Pro Plus 110/119 1&2 out 1 in
Quad Dish Pro 110/119 1&2 out
Dual Dish Pro that has two outputs.
I tried connecting the dual pro to the plus's in but it don't work.
Just gettin tired of shutting down receiver going outside to switch cables then coming back in to power up.
Cursed here as i'm lazy and cheap! lol.
hazwis, I had it setup as you mention on the pro plus and it toasted the diseqc. With exception I didn't have a 4th input on the disecq since I used a dual on the second dish.
I didn't want to put it on the pro if it was going to toast the other one too.

Re: Diseqc toasted
you can connect the dpro dual to the dpplus thats what the "IN" is for. Setup all your sats make sure they are aimed right and in the settings 119 #1 110#2 ??#3

Re: Diseqc toasted
so dish pro quads and duals can connect to can connect to a diseqc switches but not pro plus's.
and pro duals can connect to pro plus.
My only issue I see with the pro dual to the pro plus is I don't think I have enough power to run them. I used some 2ghz RG6 to connect the pro dual to the plus then from 1 of the plus to the stb. Got no signal on 91 and signal lost on 110. 119 only one that worked.
Tried diseqc on pro and it worked so I swapped pro for plus and it worked so I left it overnite and it toasted.
Guess I could have asked first and saved a few $ instead of toasting a diseqc.
Got a pic of what I have but gotta find a place to upload it.

Re: Diseqc toasted
your cs 7100 shouldn't have any problem powering those 3 lnbs. I used to do it with a cs 4k,5k,6k. How long is the cable from the box to the lnbs? give us a list of what you have lnbs, switches, dish etc.... and the sats your trying to get

Re: Diseqc toasted
I have One dish Pro Plus LNB and the pictured ones along with a coolsat 4x1 diseqc 2.0 switch. I see the 2.0 may be the problem?
About a 100' run from dish's to cs7100.
Antenna 1 is set at sats 119/110 and antenna 2 has the single dp lnb set at sat 91. sat 119 diseqc 1, sat 110 diseqc 2, sat 91 diseqc 3 in sat setup.
First tried dp plus on ant 1 and single dp ant 2 to input of dp plus. only got 1 sat. other two 0%
Next I tried dp pro on ant 1. lnb 1 to diseqc 1, 2 to disecq 2, ant 2, one of the single lnb to diseqc 3. It worked, but I decieded to put the plus in the pro's place and overnite it fried the diseqc.

Re: Diseqc toasted
alright lets use the dpro quad and see if this works. Take the first cable from the lnb on the side that says 119 and run it into the diseqc switch #1(119), now take the cable right next to it and run it to #2(110) now take the dpro dual cable and run it to #3(91). Adjust your settings and tell me if it worked. Ive read that when connecting quad to an external switch you have to use 1 of the pairs of outputs like 1&2 or 3&4.
Output 1 - 119
Output 2 - 110
Output 3 - 119
Output 4 - 110
