Could use some serious "step by step" help.
I have tried my best at following some of the previous responses, but to no avail.
I have disconnected the cable running from the bell dish and now only have the Dishnet dish connected.
I have tried various combinations on the Dish setting page of the menu, however on the top right of the screen, i still get "Bell Expressvu 82" is that normal?
Can anyone give me a step by step procedure to go from having a fully operational B*V hookup, to setting up my receiver for D*.
Many thanks in advance,
p.s. Any news on what B*V is up to, just in case i don't figure out the D* scenario????
cheers!!

Re: Could use some serious "step by step" help.
If you have a good signal and quality dn 110/119, then do a factory default, set lang. then time, it will then ask DO you want to auto detect, hit yes,the box will scan LNB types and sat's,,then you do a auto scan, then save settings,,,,, it's a one button set-up, almost too easy,,

Re: Could use some serious "step by step" help.
i do have 2 dishes outside, they were both connected to a splitter which sent a single cable into my home, i detached the other dish that i believed to be the B*V dish. Now i only have the DishNetork dish coming into my home.
Both dishes are pointing in a similar direction, but they are not identical, they do vary enough to notice with my eyes. How much of a difference or play can there be between both dishes?
I assumed that the slightest deviation meant they were different signals, is it possible they are both pointing toward a B*V sat?
If that is the case, then i will have to wait for B*V to come back, because i don't have the proper equipment to realign the dishes.
thanks for all the help!!!

Re: Could use some serious "step by step" help.
After other replies, it may be possible i'm not even getting a DN signal. Both dishes might be picking up same signal, even though they are not exactly aimed in the same direction.
I guess i need a compass!

Re: Could use some serious "step by step" help.
there is 2 bev sats 82 and 91
i suggest taking a sharpie and mark the settings where they are now and then do a factory default set up for either 110 or 119 and then slowly start moving one dish west till you get signal on the box

Re: Could use some serious "step by step" help.
dish setting Bell Expressvu 82
Satellite 110.0W Echostar8 10
Freq. 12224MHZ
LNBPower On
LNBType Single
LNBFreq. 11250
evrything else is OFF
Level 91%
Quality 89%
...is what my screen looks like at the moment following a factory default.
the 110 and 119 you are referring to is the satellite... correct?
how do i know if i am testing for DN or Bell, that is my real dilemma at this point i guess.
will the Dish Setting on the top of the screen change if i start moving the dish outside toward the west? or do i need to do something else prior to that?
again a big thanks for taking the time,
cheers!
