Phase II Dirttv dish for FTA?
Hi, which LNBs for FTA should I use to make a old dir. tv dish Phase II that I got out of a dumpster work. I'm going to use a viewsat ultra receiver. The dish has 2 lnbs already, I know one of them works not sure of the other one. Or is there a mod bracket available to replace the holder on the end of the feedhorn? The bracket that is there looks like its made to hold 5 LNBs. I'm new at this, but having fun already. I can't find a satellite store around to just go buy parts, so it's kinda neccessary to ask, or spend weeks upon weeks ordering stuff and sending it back because its wrong. Thanks

Re: Phase II Dirttv dish for FTA?
thank you so much for the push in the right direction. Where's a good place to buy satellite parts. I'm thinking about a motor to move this thing with. This morning I moved the dish by using a directtv receiver to beep while i listened with a phone for a good response from the receiver. works, but its a pain LOL..

Re: Phase II Dirttv dish for FTA?
Phase II is doable dish. NOte there is a switch built inside the plastic "W", or on the back of the reflector. Throw it away. You have 2 LNB heads and can add one Dave for 3 sats (101/110/119/129 pick 3). **** LNB's are rectangular shape mounting, Dave heads are "D" shape mounting. Installing a Quad "D" mount in a rectangular mount bracket can cause you some problems. Adapters for 5 heads are out that take either shape. If your current LNB's are singles or Duals will guide you wether 1 or 2 rooms can be serviced with what you have. Best to remount the LNB's from current location on "W" to assigned markings of 110 / 119, or dead center and between markings. If one room you can use Diseqc combiner, 2 rooms go with a pair of SW-21's to avid freezing issues. Look at 3x4 or 4x4 switch for more Sats or rooms.

Re: Phase II Dirttv dish for FTA?
Thanks, the 2 LNBs that are there have "compatible with Dirttv plus" and have two plugs, my guess for 2 receivers. I'd like to run 3 receivers. Any ideas on best path to take?
thanks
