Don't be so doomsday. People are working on N3 and we all knew it was coming. I purposely didn't buy a new unit waiting for N3 to hit and to see the outcome. Get a subscription for now. I'm adding to my subscription on my big dish while I wait since I can't even watch TV with rabbit ears anymore because the switch to digital is so weak I only get two stations. Been complaining about that since January.

The switch to N3 and to digital TV looks like a plan to get us all paying for FTA. Everyone in the country should be screaming. It reminds me of the days of "Radio Free Europe." It's a travesty of justice to do this now when people are suffering from bad economy. I can no longer watch my 13" Sharp Aquos, purchased two converter boxes, and two amplified antennas and nothing. I'm out about $675.00 for what used to be free TV airwaves. And now N3 is hitting hard on my old Pansat. My yard is littered with a big dish, a little dish, and it looks like we're being forced to get giant outdoor antennas to pick up what I used to get on rabbit ears. I have absolutely no local channels to watch the news. Thank God for the Internet...so far. They'll figure out a way to charge us for that yet.

If I added up all the money we have in equipment just to get TV, it's in the thousands, so count your blessings if you're only out one box. Screwed here and not fun.

You've already got it ! You don't want it. Your post also brings to mind the expression "ignorance is no excuse".

Read about Nagra 3 by typing Nagra3 in the search box. You have a lot of catching up to do in this area.

Nagravision is what the satelite providers use for their service. I am also kind of new to this fta. I just bought a cw 700 receiver and a dish 500. It is kind of a shame that now I can't watch my favorite programs. The channels that are up, is not even worth my time watching them. And as far as they say that channel 216 is up, then they also say that these other channels are up, they are just showing the same thing, WOW. I feel that if they knew this was coming for some time now, you would have thought that they would have had a fix when this switch changed from nag. 2 to nag. 3. Now we have to be inconvienced. And they talk about being patient. Just like they prepared everybody from the big switch from anolog to digital, these so called moderators or hackers whatever you want to call them, should have done the same thing for fta's. I'm pissed off about this though.

I agree with what you have to say 100%. This is for the birds. If I knew all this was going to be like this, I wouldn't have purchased the box and dish.

well said deanluna as for the 3 previous posts your box still works for what its designed to do. (fta) dish and bev are a privelage not a right. your box wasnt bought from either one of them.

Exactly, I'm thankful the coders do what they do. I can't do it. These guys deserve our appreciation for getting FTA this far. I'm sure we'll all be watching TV for free again. Thank you coders.
