To this poster and the other two who are whining. Unfortunately you came in at a certain time in the fta lifetime when things were in transistion; however, I can't help but think that HAD YOU DONE SOME RESEARCH before you made your purchases you would have known what was going on.
Those of us who have been "testing" for 6 years or more know the ups and downs of this industry. If you three last another 5.5 years you might be able to write a similar note to people who will be complaining in 2014, by then I'll 72 years old and won't give a rat's rear about any of this ! (or maybe I will !)

Re: updated dn nag3 channel list
Free To Air (fta) is not a catergory that DN falls under my friends... Thats why we are down and in need a third party encryption to watch again. If you want FTA, try 123w. Good shows and some movies and sports, and it never goes down.

And as far as they say that channel 216 is up, then they also say that these other channels are up, they are just showing the same thing, WOW. I feel that if they knew this was coming for some time now, you would have thought that they would have had a fix when this switch changed from nag. 2 to nag. 3. Now we have to be inconvienced. And they talk about being patient. Just like they prepared everybody from the big switch from anolog to digital, these so called moderators or hackers whatever you want to call them, should have done the same thing for fta's. I'm pissed off about this though.

Sorry that you found out about it too late. I must comment, however, that ABdss was repeatedly had discussion and forums about this very thing. I researched everything before I bought a receiver for my in-laws, who decided that even just 8 months of receiving was worth the receiver cost.
I am looking into the way, if possible, to hook up my fta receiver to my old analog tower somehow and pick up fta digital like the old analog days.

Re: updated dn nag3 channel list
You can convert the big 10 footer to receiver digital Ku band signals. I can't recall a thread, but check in the dish section or try google...I even thing they have a video on Youtube on it...

Canada was recently inundated by a tidal wave caused by global warming and all broadcasts on BEV are coming from under 100 feet of water. This too was covered in another thread on this website.

Do you need someone to hold your hand and walk you through the search process?

Re: updated dn nag3 channel list
I can't understand the posts complaining about the Charlie/BEV downtime...the type of FTA that we are discussing IS NOT NECESSARY LEGAL and therefore have no right to complain about a FREE service, especially when programmers are putting their asses on the line to produce these codes for us. Its nobody else's fault but yourself for not researching prior to purchasing your hardware. Everyone needs to relax and read the posts of the admins who've gone through this transition before, be patient & eventually good things will come.
Happy Fathers Day to all.

Re: updated dn nag3 channel list
The whiners and complainers drive me nutz Nutz NUTZ.
I got started in this sat stuff in January, even then I read all about N3 and knew it was on it's way.
I knew my box may last a month or a year. I got 6 solid months of programming, tons of movies that r now on DVDs on my shelf and a new cool hobby and an understanding of how these sat system works.
according to my calculations, the last 6 months in TV alone i saved myself $336 in bills, that takes into account my initial investment of the SV360 and a 1TB hard drive.(guess i can go buy that ps3 now)
following recent "changes" I had to invest another $100 that will last me ....?? until a real N3 fix is released?? and forever after that?? Factor in the 80 movies i have sitting on my shelf, and average them to be worth say $20 each and I would say I was close to $2,000 ahead of the game when "Black Tursday" hit last week....
I'm certainly upset that I don't have my full channel list right now, but taking it out on the programmers, the moderators and pissing and moaning because your free ride is over?? Grow up, maybe we need an age limit here to keep the whiny 5th graders out, they can stick to their myspace and cry to TOM when their FREE service is down.
N3 is here! SUCK IT UP! if you didn't know it was coming then YOU MADE A BAD INVESTMENT and should kick yourself in the backside all the way down to the Comcast office!
