Latest Issue of .................
TeleSatellite is out!
You can download the magazine or just read online, It is available in at least 20 Languages, Has equipment that we don't hear about for months, this is a full magazine just like the $7.00 one you can find in some specialty magazine shops, Nothing trimmed or left out. you can also check out and download back issues for articles on equipment you may own etc... I don't think I can post a link but you can just google 'Telesatellite' If you haven't seen this you've been missing out on one of the best free things that you can get on the web! I hope you enjoy.

Re: Latest Issue of .................
That is a VERY interesting article, and they do go into all that other stuff apparently Many if not most run Linux open source based software and lot's of Brits and Europeans are writing a lot of apps for these things that is the first one with built in browser and a lot of other stuff, Lots of real good stuff in the back issues, you can look at the front covers to get an idea of whats inside before downloading they average about 25 to 30 Megs so only takes about 20 seconds to download depending on your connection.

Re: Latest Issue of .................
Thank you, I stumbled across this mag a few years ago when I moved to the Caribbean, Antigua. The fellow we bought the marine electronic business from had a copy sitting on a desk and from then on I was hooked. I wish I could turn more folks onto it. That $99 sub for a year is sky high but they seem to have no money issues lol, as they have always offered it online. I have learned from this mag that what we are offered in this country is very sub standard compared to what those folks Overseas are willing to work with. I do so wish that we had all those options they have where you can sub to about 50 different sat providers and buy channels rather then packages. I think if the govt got involved in any private enterprise they should grab DN ,BEV and DTV by the balls and squeeze Real hard also make it easier for more competition. Well I can dream lol.

Read the magazine article then you will know that your question is Extremely Funny, as a matter of fact if you read about that stb and find out how it works I think you will chuckle at yourself for asking such a question.
P.S. Thank you for brightening up my day with that lol.

Re: Latest Issue of .................
Ok give up? I know how folks like to comment without reading beyond the front cover lol, that's the way it is nowadays. So I will tell you it does not use the satellite dish for Internet, thats not the point of it, it integrates many inputs to allow watching tv seamlessly from many sources without having to do anything but change channels one channel may come from Broadband the next might be from satellite but when you are channel surfing you won't care and you won't have to. Really read the thing. you took more time typing your statement then it would have taken you to look at the article lol.

Never happen... With the delay of transmission, the phone will never be used through a satellite connection. I tried it with Vonage and it flat doesn't work... (sorry bout that)

Re: Latest Issue of .................
Very interesting article about the Polish guy who reviews the Pasat dish from Bulgaria. Not to mention the DTTV advertisement on the opposing page.
Nobody bin begging in that magazine and they are years ahead of North America in technology. Since the U.S. has a monopoly on Hollywood entertainment, Europeans, Asians, and Middle East people needed to invent local substitutes and FTA is one of them.

Please Please Please Read the **** thing before commenting.
I understand fully, that in this day and age folks seem to read the front page or the headlines and then start commenting based on a few words (I have done it!), rather then take the time to read and find out what it's about and then make an educated comment.
The satellite dishes, only function at this point is to receive a satellite TV signal it up-links nothing.
Yes many of us know the shortcomings of trying to use voip on a satellite internet connection It's a pain in the *** but it can be done.
I have a friend in the islands and talk quite often to vessels at sea who have no other choice, the delay is something that folks can get used to (I don't know how old you are but before the advent of trans ocean cable and fiber the same delay took place when making overseas calls to many small countries) if they have no other option, but this has nothing to do with that, Please read the article and then make comment.
I will express one observation that I made, and that is I think this box is a teaser, in that they left out terrestrial tuners for getting locals in digital Over the air.
I would imagine that that will be included in the next version.
But please do yourself a favor and at least read the thread, if you had you would see that I explained this already in this thread.
The reason I posted this, was in hopes that folks could see what the world has to offer, unless you have lived outside the us for an extended period, it is hard to understand that the united states is not the center of the world, it's only one small part of it.
I love this country and am not bad mouthing it, on the contrary I am just saying that there is a huge world out there that folks are missing, broaden your focus a bit. Why limit your self to one entrée when you can pig out on a banquet.

Thanks for the input. I would hope if more folks here in the states started reading the mag and sending them some feedback we could get more articles directed toward the U.S. satellite community.
As it is the coverage is lacking in my opinion.
It would be nice if folks emailed them with some requests and possibly even offer an self authored article about the state of FTA here in the states from the perspective of the end user. Humm..... man I have a lot on my plate already but will send them some stuff when I can, just have to make very sure the info doesn't have any implications of Pirate activity lol. They seem to be very careful to distance themselves, I saw a review of the triple dragon some time back and you may also have read the same one where they mention reading between the lines to see what the receiver can really do lol. It's all good stuff, can't ever have to much info.
