Give these guys a Break! I just found out the one guys father is VERY ill and he hasnt been able to even leave the hospital!

I appreciate the news, but, I would be careful of how much you rely on "The DSS Guy." He ran at the mouth for nearly 4 months back in during the long black-out in 2006. He went on and on about a fix that was coming "any day now." He upset *ALOT* of people in the viewsat scene. If he is on IRC running at the mouth again, I would take it with a grain of salt. As far as I can tell, "The DSS Guy" is merely a Viewsat evangelist.

I have no doubt that if a fix is possible, Viewsat will have one when it is ready. These black-outs happen. You just have to roll with them.

yes i agree but we must try to get ppl inform on what fta comunity is talking about that give at least little hope and calm down some angry tv viewer

You are very welcome!

I think the best thing to do for the newer folks who are getting upset is to explain to them that these blackouts happen and that it is a small price to pay for the freedom they experience the rest of the time.

From my point of view, you have to expect that blackouts will and do happen. That is why I have a 1.5m dish, motor, and an Invacom quad lnb that does circular and linear. I surf all of the Ku sats, get feeds, movies, sporting events, news, etc. None of which is dependant upon Charlie or Beverly.

I encourage others to get motors a see the rest of the Ku band. Heck, if you are in Europe, you know how much unecrypted movies, news, and pr0n is available? There is *ALOT* more out there than Charlie and Beverly.

You are calling me a noob because 1) I just joined this forum, and 2) I have not decided to pay a subscription.

You have no idea how long I have been around in the scene, what I know, what my skillz are, or how foolish you look by making a statement like that.

And secondly, crass remarks??? Do you even know what the definition of crass is?

I thanked the Grudge for his post, and add a word of caution about "The DSS Guy" because I have clearly been around *alot* longer than you. Please explain to me how that is crass exactly? And try to do it intelligently, without calling me names, and using a dictionary, thersaurus, and possibly a spell checker next time.

Lets not down anyone for there comments. His comments were his opinion and he's entitled to speak his thoughts. As long a comments are kept clean and tasteful, we allow everyone to speak there thoughts. I sometimes think keeping your opinion about someone else to your self is best, but this is my opinion...

Slick your way off base with your comment. TheDSSGUY is a big windbag and BIG speaks the truth. This has nothing to do with pay or not, or being a newb. Obviously BIG has been around long enough to near the BS that THEDSSGUY spouted for months last year.

I agree with Biganalog. The DSS Guy can and should be taken with a grain of salt. Years ago he was reliable, (back when he used Al***r for his mouthpiece) but as BA said, "He pissed alot of people off" during the long 2006 outage. However, we now know in this case he was right, although the information was out there from other sources as well. This is our opinion of the guy and you are entitled for yours. Also, users of this site should watch who you call newbie. Some of us have been around for years but just don't post on this site much. You can't tell by whether someone is a paying member either. Many of us choose not to pay for bins.
