Viewsat Extreme

It has been 9 days viewsat extreme is black on BEV. CW had a fix 5 days ago with both bev/Dn, most other brands follows very shortly with also both bev/Dn. OK.. viewsat finally stepped up 2 days ago by releasing only 2 brands to work. And finally, yesterday they have all the other brands to work, but no BEV. Around noon yesterday, new bins came for both ultra and HD, still xtreme and plat is no where to be found for bev. I am a little fed up, i know this is FTA, and i don't owe anyone anything, but it is still business. I purchase the extreme by it's reputation, and the problem is.. i promoted the box to 50 something co-workers and friends in the month of May 2007. I am very very embrassed by the fact that people think i am ripping them off for a crappy receiver, while CW is working for so long already undisturbed. We are from Canada, we want bev. I will be looking towards a HD receiver in the future. Right now, my heart is not with viewsat. Viewsat needs to come out and be straight forward to the ppl, they are throwing away a reputation that they build for such a long time. The last time i checked, CW is selling like hot cakes.

I believe it has been posted various times on different threads that the main coder for viewsat has spent the better part of the past two weeks at his fathers bedside in the hospital. His father passed away a couple of days ago.
I find it pretty amazing that they have released the files that they have under those conditions. So I have to wait another few days to get free tv, not a big deal compared to what some people are dealing with at the present time.
PS - Viewsat has stated that the main concern at present is to get a full emu, not spend a large part of their resources on temp fixes that will only last hours or days.
I'm happy with my extreme and viewsats past performance speaks volumes.

If you would do some reading, you would know that one of viewsats main coders has family problems right now. His father is very sick right now, and I'm sure that a new bin is the last thing on his mind. Please give him a break!!!

Being that your new here, I'll let you know, and hope that everyone will cut you some slack. You need to do some reading. What you just did is called hijacking a thread. please do not do it again, it is considered rude.
Now to answer your question. You may need to manually input your keys if the auto roll in not working on bev.

How much you think we should believe the updates or inside info about bins or fixes?
1. Most of the fixes/bins, emails from so called 'bl or coders' are released by newbies, who joined the FTA community recently, not by Mods or Veteran Site Helpers/testers
2. How many coders for each brand receiver? I would assume a few, my thoughts and prayers are with the vs coder for his loss of his beloved dad, if it's true. However the impact of one coder on the release seems way too huge.
My conclusion:
FTA is a hobby, i already sub to basic cable for local news and weatherforcast, if new bins available, i enjoy more shows such as ppv. I don't beg or whine. Remember FTA is a business, i could imagin the big drop in sales for VS receivers in the past few weeks. It's the manufacturers who should panic when they don't have new bins released, for them it's revenue loss. We, viewers, only need to sit tight, and give coders some time and enjoy times with family and watch limited local channels.

Every bin that is posted on this site, is tested by the Mods first. That is way this site is the safest out there. As for updates, and info. I consider everything a rummor until proven otherwise. The coders are trying their best to put out a quality bin. Just give them time.

Well , well, well. I think one had better get their facts in line. Somebody says, the coders dad was sick and past away a couple of days. Another says , the coder's father is still sick in the hospital. Then someone says, viewsat is working on a permanent or full emu fix. Also during the "Christmas" holidays someone said , hey they have to spend time with their loved one during Christmas. I think you have a pattern of a lot of people not knowing what is what and a lot of humors or he said and I heard, rumor has it, etc, etc, etc. Oh yes another joker came on here and said that viewsat has a main coder only and some minor colders underneath him. Where the hell does everyone get their rumors? Further to this soap opera, all the other receivers had their fix much before viewsat and so ( I mean so they say) that viewsat is one of the best and most sold receivers with a great support. I think its time to invest into some good fertilizer guys and if you know the true facts and there are many of them concerning, sickness, Christmas holidays, working on a permanent fix, etc, etc. well them where do they really come from . Oh viewsat being as big and with a great reputation only have one main coder ...wow, wow....(B.S.) Just for your records, I own two viewsat platiums receivers, one viewsat extreme and recently bought a captiveworks. I am not happy with the b.s. coming out of the viewsat camp but must say when the receivers are up and running...viewsat is a better machine but the b.s. has to stop and rumors belong in the toilet or garbage can. If one have read a lot of discussion on a few web sites, tehy will find a lot and I mean a lot of viewsat owners not very happy or impressed... In closing, future sales from viewsat could be decreased with the recent b.s.

ok guys come on this is a hard ecm to fix and you have to stop this .. come on as for viewsat being whatr 3 rd on the release well tell your friend there was nothing on the box that says here free tv from the top providers it says use for free to air ONLY now if you friends purchased this box they should have know the riska and if they went in blindly well then that is there fault i don't just dropa few hundred dollars because one of my friends go here this is the best.. they made a choice.. next as to viewsat what because cw has put bins first hey there first bin lasted 2 hrs and they from the 21st of dec have released 8 bins viewsat 1 now for over 24 hrs and still working ( not great but better than no tv ) come on .. now as to the rumours well you know what that i will give you but look at the sources alot of the guys that are telling you these facts are newbies or guys that surf around making crap up because they are bored with no tv .. just sit back relax don't worry about the rumours wait for the fix get a sub, or get a 33 inch dish with a linear lnb and watch g10r 123 w it never goes down .. oh ya it is free to air here look no money

FTA=free to air.
Free to air channels are very fun to have,though not many of them are premiums and such,there still very interesting and enjoyable to have.These FTA channels remain up at all times and are not attacked by ecm’s as These channels are not encrypted.
A great starting point is 123w-G10r.
This bird requires a minimum of a 30″ dish.(depending on your location,it may be larger).
This can be determined here:

Use the map to get your DBW strength,and the corresponding chart to the right to determine the dish size required.
You will also need a linear lnb.

As you can see there are some Foreign channels but most are English.We will focus on the English.

leungc: the main coder on the Viewsat team has recently suffered a personal bereavement. FWIW, Viewsat seems to be one of the first to come out with fixes. The following may also be informative to you:
