new bird echostar 6 at 72.7w now active
72.7w
a small dish and standard circular lnb (same dish and lnb as 119/110/91/82 use for example) will pick up this new bird.
EchoStar 6 at 72.7°W - LyngSat
some dn channels are active already and dn will be leasing 16 tps to bev.
so this bird for awhile at least, will be a combo dn/bev bird.
another bird for fun.

Re: new bird echostar 6 at 72.7w now active
This bird was moved from 110.33W as part of Charlie/Bev's strategic plan to strengthen the eastern arc. Its odd position should be accessible with an 18" wing dish or a DN500 on 72.7-82W.

Re: new bird echostar 6 at 72.7w now active
think...you could have 1 dish with 1 lnb and if one provider goes down you would still have something to watch!

Re: new bird echostar 6 at 72.7w now active
I just aimed an 18" single at 72.7W 22-degrees elevation from the Pacific Coast and have logged 47TV and 7Radio channels. Signal=85, Q=60. I did try a DN500 Twin skewed with 82W strong on the 119LNB and looked for 72.7W on the 110LNB with no usable signal.
FYI: A month after ES applied for permission to move ES6 to 72.7W, it filed to move ES8 to 77W as part of the strengthening of the eastern arc. That satellite slot is allocated to Mexico, so some joint operations may result, just as ES6 is now to be shared with Canada. We're gonna need some new LNB brackets.

Re: new bird echostar 6 at 72.7w now active
The 72.7W slot is allocated to Canada which has allowed DT to operate several successive interim sats there. DN is hoping to muscle in when the present agreements expire.

Just to clarify, DN will still broadcast from 110W using ES10, with more backups moving in from other discontinued slots and new launches.

no.you will want to make a new bird for now.call it echo6 @ 72.7w
then add the tps you find there at lyngsat.com or for now,you could blind scan this bird to pick up tps as they are added.in the future coders will add this bird in the sats lists.

echo 6 was replaced with echo 10 quite awhile ago now.echo 8.10 = 110w currently.(though some stbs still read as echo 6/8-this is incorrect-but works fine of course.just confusing now lol)

a motor will get many birds.this seems to be the way to go nowadays.the only disadvantage with motors rather than lots of dishes is you have to wait for the motor to move from bird to bird.so you will have channel delays of a few seconds.but of course its much cleaner.and with a nice big 36" or so with invacom lnb,you can get linear birds for true fta as well.
a motor and a HD receiver will soon become the most popular setup in the future.
and not very good for dual tuners or multiple receiver stbs.(not by themselfs anyway) but great for 1 stb.and ideal for 1 hd stb.

well for sure there are going to be channel shifting and such.but they wont want to replace everyone's dishes etc.this seems to be a way to expand HD into the future with more channels.
