now for about the same price you get an even more up to date stb, with even better picture quality, and PVR to boot!
never been a doubt about sv,they have been great, and will be well into the future.

I'm really glad to hear there will be continued support for the SV4. To me that's what is important, especially to those of us who have one!!

sonicview's team don't leave users in the dust.they continue support and haven't dropped the ball on ANY of their stbs to date.not even their discontinued models!!
you have no worries buddy.
team sonicview knows they have many, many happy 4k users, they won't risk losing their friends.
older models MUST stop and continue to be replaced with higher end units to stay competitive.this = better stbs for the end user.
but support doesn't have to go anywhere(at least not for a long time imho) for the discontinued units.
with sonicview,
discontinued= stop further production and sales,
with continued support.
they have already, and still are, proving this right now.

why not to worry about continued support for sv4000.
here is a good example why buddy arbor wont steer you guys wrong.
through researching,iv found a question dated: 06-28-2007 regarding sonicview discontinuing the sv1000.
the question dated 06-28-2007:
I read that the 1000 was discontinued. Is that true, and what's that mean concerning future support? The 1000 is a fine box IMO, for standard definition.
the response dated 07-03-2007:
Hi all,
We will still supports all Sonicview model regardless still in production or discontinued. SV-1000 and SV-4000 are two different box, and not the same alike most think. The PVR-1000 also ended it production and we still update with features, because it can handle without problem, this should answer to all rumor flying around that we only add update feature to newer box to push the sales, it is completely wrong by unreasonable individual.
With what already in the SV-1000 now, it surpass every other box in it class, but all box does have limitation. And we do not see it best to add something could result in unstable of the box. We are still looking to it, if we can figure out a way to add it in and have the box running smooth, we will release it.
Ciao

Re: Sonicview SV-4000 DISCONTINUED
I have a 8000HD and a 360 elite. Sonicview is the best! Some teams claim support, but SV proves support and helps set the stage for the rest to follow.
The 360 elite is a box for people who surf channels. With a true dual tuner you can watch 2 different channels on 2 different sats @ the same time.
The 8000HD is a freight train. Great quality, and well worth spending a bit extra to be able to get DN & B3V HD, and have a reliable coding team supporting your box.
With SV you cant go wrong.
