Buying a new box? Things to consider.....
Right now DN & B3V are changing the game.
As most of us know nag3 is around the corner. There still remains some uncertainty about what the card swap will bring....
DN has just announced they will be changing to the Mpeg-4 format. When this is done only Mpeg-4 compatable boxes will be useable for DN. That means as it sits right now only HD boxes will work.

So when you chose a new box please remember that the cheaper standard def boxes wont work soon on DN but there is no guarantee that if you spend more on an HD box that it will out last the card swap.

I know that it Charlie has scheduled MPEG-4 at the end of the year but when is Bev going for the Mpeg-4 and what about there card swap?

So now the question is......Even if we have an hd stb but do not have the 8psk module will the unit work or will we all have to purchase it.
Right now all units with hd can pick up b3v 82 without the module.

I just tried through the built in tuner on the SV8000 and it works on Mpeg4
