Re: Warning to Viewsat Owners!!!
that might be true bill of oz but the way I see things going is many
of those FTA may go the way of the high speed internet and those
stations can dump the costs of paying the satellite time. then the dish
will be a real door stop too.
they will just pay for bandwidth then.

Re: Warning to Viewsat Owners!!!
In the medium to long term future, I also think that a lot of what we would now watch via cable or DN or Dave will be "broadcast" via broadband. The problem in the USA right now is that BB is not universally available or universally affordable. And, beyond entertainment, this is having an adverse impact on business, industry, & education as the governments of our competitors in Asia spending big bucks on high speed communications.

Re: Warning to Viewsat Owners!!!
end user lawsuite? Unless they catch you, in your house watching a channel from your FTA, that is distributed by echostar or other distributer, the police still need a complaint to even look into. The sale of FTA units legal, and no one has the right to stop free enterprise. If your FTA is damaged and under warrenty, it can be fixed, without fear, what if your DVD recorde is broken, because it can copy ," copy write" DVD's or music, is it a crime to have it, or send it out for repair?

well not exactly, if their is a 3rd party code left inside box along with public keys when you return back the unit, then you are in trouble. Also not sure on this but if flash chip could be recovered of deleted content using forensic science, you are still in trouble, unless you can jtag to the flash & erase full flash multiple times & then write new factory code on it... may be 100% safe.
