All that the Mpeg4 does is allow a greater amount of data in the stream for a given bandwidth, it's a compression system so you can run everything from Morse Code all the way up to HD on it.

more channels gone....this afternoon I'm just gonna put up the list of REMAINING channels, as it's a lil easier with all the N3 changes....already got the list created, just need to double check EVERYTHING ON IT, before posting this afternoon.

other channels gone by the way are ANY ottawa (DV, French, and english) channels, both Fox E/W channels(283/290), TSN1(400)/RDS, Fight Network, etc. most channels gone las of late last night were sports. CBS E/W only channels left outta US Networks beside the basics, meaning CBS' will be gone later today, and after that, CW11, KTLA, WGN, etc SHOULD start to go. Telat International (700)is also now gone.

I know I was watching ufc on spike. I turned the channel and then came back boom no more spike. Sad day. Might have to aim at DN. Other thing is I have a viewsat in my living room and a cw in my bedroom. The events channel works in the living room but not the bedroom. Anyone know why that would happen.

Recieved 2 DN smart cards in the mail 2 weeks ago. Letter says to put in ASAP so I won't lose service. I have 2 dn hd dvrs, currently no cards installed. Now seeing messages on dn reciever channels urging to swap out smart cards, or lose service. Wondering if I will still be able to recieve FTA programming on my cw 600, if i insert new smart cards into existing dn recievers sharing the same satellite.

I am aimed at 91 and i have no channels, must have wnt out around 5:00 am that is when i last recorded a show and they were ok, and the last channel it was on was working until i changed to another channel.

ok, so we all talked about how it'd be "easier" to have a list of "What's Left" this list is FOR ALMOST ALL FTA'ers, possibly for IKS as well
(IKS MAY have a few movie channels, no one can seem to confirm this, so those channels THAT MAY BE THERE with latest IKS fixes are not in the "What's Left" list. some people have a few channels more, some a few less, but this list is the overall MAJORITY of fta users.)

I'll DENY that one for ya... fta coders NEVER work along side the providers to MAKE the encryption...the providers parent company ECHOSTAR has a division called NAGRASTAR, which handles the encryption for echostar. all the fta coders do is "crack" this encryption, and release the "crack" which we know as BINS. coders them still receive what you call a "legitamate" pay, as they are paid BY advertisers for "promoting" their sales sites, and the fta manufactuers for creating the "original" fta code for the stb's.

Technically, ALL money made within FTA land is "legitimate", as most money that flows through is CASH. it is NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE to leave a paper trail with cash.and even when YOU the fta USER leaves a paper trail, IT IS ON ECHOSTAR To PROVE SATELLITE THEFT, which is next to impossible for them to do. see the never ending cycle?
