1. The V-Link Loader needs to communicate with your Viewsat receiver using the upload cable connected to your serial port on either Com1 or Com2 only. Open the V-Link Loader application select the correct Com port.

2. Click Connect to open Serial Port.




3. You should now see Connected in the text box area. And the V-Mulate button should be enabled.




4. Next, click on Load button and browse to select the new IKS .pgm file you will soon be able to download




5. Click the V-Mulate button and sit back!
**For the configurations, leave DHCP checked. Those settings will be used later on

I'm hearing End of Feb. for the V-links to start shipping out to dealers but no confirmation on that. Also the rumors going around about the V-link, are that VS has Cracked N3 but instead of releasing Stand Alone fixes for there STB's are going to use the V-Link or IKS system for there N3 crack, to A) Minimize down time from ECM's etc, B) Other STB's couldn't steal there N3 Crack or reverse engineer it.

matter of fact, if you read what Mr Viewsat was sentenced for, was "hiring hackers to crack N3". not for actual theft of the signal. they might as well have done it.

I disagree running a IKS server is very dangerous. It leaves a money trace. IKS is not popular enough to get the attention of the feds. But if the government put enough effort into it, they could pressure ISPs to hand over the serves used in IKS. Just like UBS bank is handing over the list of Rich Americans who are evading taxes in Switzerland.
