Broken Viewsat?????????
When I try to use the loader2 for my Viewsat vs2000 Plat. it gives me an error message saying "Com Port Open Failed". Is there something that I'm doing wrong? I just Got this box and it is brand new. I turned it on to see If I was getting my satellites and it worked when I did that. If anyone will help me I would appreciate it. Thanks

Make sure that the Viewsat is NOT on untill you load your file onto the loader2 and hit PC-STB then turn on the box from the back switch. If that does not work, after you open your loader2 go to the top and click on the tool bar then from there go to Cofiguration make sure you have your reciever pluged in and hooked up to your computer but make sure the reciever is turned off from the rear switch and you do not see any lights on the reciever. In the configuration click on that and make sure your COM port matches with the COM port you have your reciver pluged to. And most of all remember the cable that comes with the Viewsat is not the same as the one that comes with the Coolsat do not mix the serial cabels up the reciver will not work with another cable it has to be the twisted not the strait.

I'm not sure where it would be twisted at. It looks the same as the Coolsat cable but the only difference is that the one that came with my Viewsat says "Null Modem" on it. Other than that is looks the same. That is the one I'm using. Thanks for reminding me. I'll try what you said right now. Does that sound like the right cable? If not, can I buy the right one in stores? Thanks.

Twisted means the #2 and the #3 pin's are twisted in the cable but both cables look alike. glad to hear you are up and running and let me know how you like the new box over the Coolsat.

The Viewsat sure does scan for channels a lot faster than the Coolsat. I like this box. I just need to mess with it a little more and I'm sure I'll find all of the features. I have a file on my Viewsat, that I got from a friend, but it is not stable and for some reason I'm not getting the channels for the 91 satellite. What bin file do you think I should put on my Viewsat VS2000 Plat.? I saw the one that you posted but I didn't load it to my box because you said it wasn't a real bin file, or something like that. What bin file should I load to my vs2000 Plat.? Thanks.

I have the 1059in mine right now and the 2051 factory bin so load the factory first and then the 1059. Have had not trouble with these two at all.

O.K. This will be my last question ever(yeah right!!!!!). Do I have to load the factory bin everytime I load a new bin on my Viewsat? I'm glad I ordered one of these Viewsat boxes. Thanks Carpenter1.

Only when a big change comes around with the bin. A bin with a new set of keys don't need the factory reloaded.
