New GUI And Loader Problems.

OK...I loaded the New GuI for my 9000.Everything was fine.But I was missing a few channles and could not get any info on the guide.So I thought I would try it agine.So I did another factory Default.Now all I have is a black screen and 00:00 on the display.So I go to hook up my Null cable to my box...My new computer doesn't have a port for it.....After I get back from the shack with a null cable with a USB conection on it. I try to load a factory File through it but... No luck.It will not load anything.It will try for a few minutes but then says error. What do I do now?I'm running Vista on my PC.

Did you install the driver for the usb adapter, you will also have to change the port in the loader pgm probably to port 4 or 5.

Changed the port until it stoped saying error.One it was 3 and now its 4.But I did not know that I need another loader.So there is a differant loader just for the cable I have.Does it work the same as the loader I'm useing now?Do I need to do anything differant?Thanks.

OK there is a dedicated help section for the reciever with ur issue..however here is a ref that suggests that folks have had issues with loading pgm files via loader RATHER THAN usb drive..it be a gud idea to check that..the link FAQ 4ur reciever is provided here..explore n enjoy..

Right now I would recommend only loading via a USB key, as it has been reported that some people using the various loader programs via serial cable have had issued with their machine not booting afterwards.

Note: when loading via USB it might take a while for the file to load and you "MUST" wait for the machine to fully reboot before doing anything.
