Phase III dish + Viewsat Platinum..no channels

Hey everyone....

I finally setup my dish and have 80/80 strength/quality on Echostar (110). My setup is based on a Viewsat Platinum and a Phase III DTV dish (Triple LNB).

From reading other threads I realize that I am not going to get all the channels on 110 until I get an LNB adapter (and 2 LNB's). My problem is that I am not getting ANY channels currently.

I have sat signal. When I try to Auto Scan for channels, none come up. TP's only go from 1-10 on the list and they all say "locked" at the end of the line. I set the receiver to scan anyways, and no channels are detected.

The only channels that are detected are on Nimiq1,3, and those don't have video/audio. What am I doing wrong?

Your only going to get 1 sat provider or the other with that dish. Nim's are bev sats not dn. So if you want dn you need to re aim the dish.

I am getting 80/80 strenth/quality on the Echostar (110) screen. Does that mean the dish isn't pointed in the right direction?

That's a bev sat. I'm not sure what sats your getting. But if you are in fact getting both then I'd say something isn't just right.

there are 3 lnbs on that dish and it uses 22Khz switching. on this site there is a post that shows how to set up a phase 3 dish. for the most part there more trouble than their worth. also if you are in antenna settings and your trying to config 110, on the top right it will tell you what sat it is actually seeing. it seems to me that your seeing bev. also make sure you have the bin that is out late yesterday.

Try to check your dish direction at dishpointer.com
put your zipcode and select the sat.
It'll give to you the direction to each sat.

This sounds like the exact same problem I'm having. I can't get any channels with this dish, no matter what I try. The problem is that the satellite name does not appear in the upper right corner during aiming. Has anyone found a fix for this?

already downloaded and read that faq. My problem is in getting the VS2000 to recognize the satellite ID.

You will get one sat with this dish, if you are lucky. I understand the cost issue, but anything else will work. I still wish you luck and hope you can get more sats from the dish

i tried the same a long time ago and if i remember correctly i used no switch other than the 1 in the lnb an i got 119 110 on the two end lnbs an the center one did not work i never went any futher with it i am useing a old c band dish with a specil lnb an moveing the dish with my 4d reciever because it is a 12 ft dish 32 volts i dont think a small box would move it but this works great for me i can get any sat out their but the 1 i use is 91 119 110. plus with a dish of this size you have a lot of db gain an no rain faid
