how to clone 2 viewsats
For use in cloning one ViewSat to another.
a. Connect the "Master" ViewSat to your TV; Power switch "ON"
b. Connect the "Clone" to the wall power; switch Power "OFF"
c. Connect the "Master" and "Clone" ViewSats using a NULL MODEM cable
d. MENU--INSTALLATION--RECEIVER UPGRADE--ALL INFORMATION
e. "OK" and the "MASTER" ViewSat sets up to send data to the "Clone" ViewSat
f. Turn the "Clone" ViewSat's power switch to "ON" and the transfer begins
NOTE: AFter the transfer is completed, the "Clone" ViewSat needs up to 1 minute to process the transferred data.
Watch the Front Panel on the "Clone" ViewSat.
"inst" will be displayed for ~ 15 seconds
"DONE" will be displayed for ~ 10 seconds
REBOOT will occur automatically without user intervention " on " will be displayed during reboot
"0 0 0 0" will show when the "Clone" has finished--no more than 1 minute after data transfer
You may now Power "OFF" the "Clone" ViewSat, disconnect the NULL MODEM cable and go use your new Clone ViewSat

No you can't because they are 2 different programs and you can only clone the same model.

Yes it clones it completely if you want it to or you can just clone the files.

Hey Carp
I was under thee impression that we need to use the virgin files 2061 or 2067 in a working unit and only then once the working unit has taken the virgin file you can attempt too clone it too the dead unit. But the issue remains a mistery too me the good unit wont accept the virgin files so how can I even consider it an option too clone correctly if the virgin file isnt in the good unit too begin with?Every time I try too load 1 of the 2 virgin files too the good unit it comes back as a fail. And the virgin files arent ever in the main software check box in the loader, its in the last box as an undefined file.I am all ears and ready too get this dude fixed so I can sell it, you wanna know what boggles me about all this , is that it crashed on a factory bin. That was obtained from this site. Oh well put a 12 gauge to my face and just blow half of it off then it will all be better, cause then I'll have something real too think about instead of some BS junk box Thanks

Re: how to clone 2 viewsats
Do you happen to know what are the files that files that are getting clones, and how large they are? I am sure that these files are much more than the 7+MB a normal bin has. Is that right?
I am trying to find a way to get all the respective files, back them up from a working receiver and load them up on one with boot up problems.
Right now I am on an infinite boot loop. The boot loop fix (32MB+) file did not work, tried using to factory bins. I am on the same loop.
Is there anyway to clone to a genuine VS 9000HD WITHOUT A (MASTER) SET THAT YOU'D CONNECT TO? I guess this would equate to a full receiver image backup. Anyone in the know? How would you get to do this?
And BTW, not sure if this is specific to VS only, but not having a way to interupt a boot loop somehow (like pressing a key on the front panel or something) is pathetic engineering. I work with CPE devices (networking, multimedia, etc) and if any device does what the VS does with this boot loop... Just talking out loud.
I am losing faith in this box (many are being returned, which I wish I could do and go with a SV..).
