Sonicview 360 Elite dual tuner,a premium testers kit. dpp-single line to both tuners.
Sonicview 360 Elite dual tuner,a premium testers kit.
so you want a sonicview dual tuner pvr,for being able to watch and record whatever you want at the same time, and even record two events on any of the channels you want at the same time.well thanks to the sv 360 Elite dual tuner pvr system,it couldn't be any easier.below is a great kit put together for you.of course you can do this other ways also.but for a basic easy solution, you can follow the advice here for a simple setup.
1.one sonicview 360 Elite dual tuner pvr fta receiver.

2.one dish 500 with a Dish Pro Plus (DPP) lnb.(not just DP twin)pointed at 119/110w.

3.one dish 500 with a Dish Pro Dual lnb(not twin) pointed at 91w.
(alternatively, mount this lnb on same dish above, with home made bracket.quality readings for 91w may not be as good as devoted dish however.)

4.one Dish Pro Plus separator.

5.measure one length of rg6 cable from dish pro dual lnb to reach dish pro plus lnb.
measure one length of rg6 cable from dish pro plus lnb to reach receiver inside.
two lengths of rg6 cables approx 8 inches each.
compression cable fittings are best.8 required.10 recommended for a couple spares.(note, you will need a rg6 crimping tool)

6.one external self powered 2.0 USB hard drive for recording one channel while watching any other channel.
OR more preferably, two external self powered 2.0 USB hard drives for ability to record any two channels at the same time.you have two usb ports devoted for this.the 3rd front usb port will be used for usb memory stick file updates.

basic directions.
once dish(s) are properly installed.run a cable from dish pro dual lnb into the dish pro plus's 3rd lnb port.(LNB IN port.its the one by itself).
next, run a cable from either of the other two lnb ports, inside to dish pro plus separator.cap off the unused lnb port on the dpp lnb.you want to place the dpp separator just behind the receiver.
next, run two short lengths from the dpp separator's out into each tuner on the rear of the receiver.
once complete, hook the receiver to your tv using the best video/audio cables that your tv supports (component is best if your tv supports this.but s-video is a step down and still very good.next down is rca cables.lastly down the list is coaxial, and this unit does not have coaxial out port to tv anyway.the higher quality connection type, the higher quality picture.also don't settle for lowest grade of cable either.but you don't need top of the line either if you don't want to spend so much.try to get a good middle grade at least though, you will be happy you did).
if you have a surround sound receiver, nothing beats bringing your sv 360 Elite alive as Dolby 5.1 with an optical cable.
once complete, turn the rear switch on.
antenna settings.
tuner 1:
119/echo 7:
LNB type: DPP separator
LNB frequency: 11250
22khz.: off
LNB power: on
transponder : 12239
search options: all
network search: on
Diseqc : port 1
motor: disable
legacy switch: off
110/echo 8,x:
LNB type: DPP separator
LNB frequency: 11250
22khz.: off
LNB power: on
transponder : 12224
search options: all
network search: on
Diseqc : port 2
motor: disable
legacy switch: off
91/nimiq 1:
LNB type: DPP separator
LNB frequency: 11250
22khz.: off
LNB power: on
transponder : 12224
search options: all
network search: on
Diseqc : port 3
motor: disable
legacy switch: off
sat scan.(not blind scan) all 3 sats.
tuner 2:
setup all exactly as tuner 1.all 3 sats the same as above.
sat scan.(not blind scan) all 3 sats for this tuner as well.
and tuner 2 will also have access to all 3 sats independently.
note.
if you do not use the 3rd lnb for this setup, then you wont setup and scan nimiq1 of course, but 119/110 settings will still apply for both tuners.and of course, you can use the 3rd lnb for any circular sat of your choice.it doesn't have to be 91w.
due to dish pro plus technology, you have up to 3 birds for each tuner with no external switch, that can be run independently with no interference with eachother with just one single line entering your house, with the dpp separator support.
dpp separator support, brought to fta receivers FIRST by team sonicview!
true leaders in free to air receiver support!

Re: Sonicview 360 Elite dual tuner,a premium testers kit.
advanced info about dish pro plus technology.
a c/p when i found,so not sure of original author, but thank you whoever you are sir:
DishPro Plus makes it possible to hook up a dual tuner receiver with just a single run of RG6. As explained above, DishPro LNBs stack the even transponders to a higher frequency range, then a DishPro switch sends all the transponders from one satellite to the receiver.
DishPro Plus puts a new twist on that by being able to control which transponders from which satellite are translated into the low and high range. For instance, the switch can be directed to translate even transponders from 119° to the low range for tuner 1 and odd transponders from 110° to the high range then put them on the same receiver output. Each range is directed to one of the dual tuner receiver's inputs by a DP Plus Separator installed at the back of the receiver. While often thought of as a splitter because of its appearance, the DPP Separator is actually a diplexer. A DPP Separator is included in the packaging.
c/p talking about sonicview being the FIRST and currently ONLY fta receiver in the market to support dpp separator/full dpp technology:
The Sonicview crew known for " no promises but deliver ", and it been all good since day one with how they showing their supports. This showing Team Sonicview monitor closely to every single feedback, and quickly react to it.
note, there is much more you can do with dpp44 switches as well.
but for more in depth details of all this, please seek the fta accessories section of the forum.
