does the sonicview elite remote have a button where u press it and it takes u directly to the folder of the recordings u taken,the viewsat pro has that and i wanted to know if the sv unit also has it,going to replace vs pro with sv elite

I can't see. But In Normal viewing:

Green button-shortcut to "Parental control"
Yellow button-shortcut to data transfer"
Blue button-shortcut to"Multi-pictures"

your talking about the recordings on the hard drive right? the only way i know is to hit menu and then pvr

If you are NOT set to 'Auto' on the time shifter, then pressing the PVR 'Play' button will bring up the selection menu. But if you are on 'Auto' time shift (and of course most folks will be) then pressing 'Play' will bring up the time shifter control bar, and the only way to access the recorded programs is through the main control menu.
