curious about bev - ABA DSS

I live in Southwest Michigan. Can I pick up bev from where I live? Is there a special lnb I need for bev if I can get it or can you use the Dish 500? Please help. Thanks and have a great day! Thanks Hankers

yes you can repoint your dish to either 91 or 82 or put a bracket on the end of your dish are where your lnbs go and get both providers. yes the lnbs wil work for dish or b3v

if you have 110 already and want 91 nimiq do not adjust the height just move it slowly to the east and you will hit 91 it is the same hieght as 110

I am not too far away from you in southwestern Ontario. My setup is a Dish 500 for DN and a separate small dish for BEV. Was easy to set up (especially with two separate aiming exercises) and the reception on my Elite is great. Used DishPointer just like storman666 recommended, and bang, there it was.

I'm getting 110 but not receiving 91, what is your set up / setting...I'm getting signal but no picture...any ideas....

My setup is probably the most common one among folks on this site. I have a Dish 500 with DPPlus head to receive 119/110. Then I have a separate dish with a DP Dual (single head) LNB for 91. The output of this dish goes into the "LNB In" connector on the DPPlus. Currently I have two downleads from the two outputs going to the two tuners on the Elite, but I will be incorporating a separator later so that one downlead can be used for a second STB.

This arrangement requires no "extra" hardware like switches, since switching is done in the DPPlus. My complete settings are documented in detail elsewhere, but the essential facts are that on the DiSEqC Port-1 setting is for 119W, Port-2 is for 110W, and Port-3 is for 91W. The LNB Type is OCS-DP for Ports 1 and 2, and Single for Port 3.

The signal strength (S) value is pretty much irrelevant when setting up -- it's mostly background noise. All that matters is the highest possible quality (Q) numbers. Personally, I found 91 much easier to set up than 119/110 -- a tribute to experience, I suppose.
