360 Elite Setup with Invacom quad polar?

Hi everybody,

I am basically new at this FTA stuff but I have been reading the boards and talking to some friends for a few weeks now so I think I've got a pretty decent handle on things now, but this setup is a little beyond me.

Ok currently I have the following:

- Sonicview Elite 360
- Invacom quadpolar
- 39" fortec star dish
- sg2100 dish motor

My plan is to catch BEV on 82/91 and then be able to swing over to Telstar 5 on 97 once in a while.

First question: I would like to be able to take advantage of the dual tuner and the ability to watch and record two different channels (I understand that they would have to be on the same satellite). My local FTA shop told me I would need to run two lines from the receiver out to two "splitters" which each have inputs from one of the circular and one of the linear outputs on the invacom. I can understand how this would work but I was wondering if it would be possible to run all 4 outputs of the Invacom to one 4X1 DiSEqC switch then run a single line to the receiver then loop that line back into the second tuner input and still retain the ability to watch/record two shows at once? Of course I'd prefer to run only one line all the way to the receiver.

Second Question: From reading around a little bit I guess I need to set the local oscillator of the lnb to 10750 for the linear outputs and 11250 for the circular outputs. Since I am trying to be able to use both outputs do I set one tuner to each? or both to one setting? I'm a little lost here.

Thanks alot for any help you can provide I really apreciate it!

Re: 360 Elite Setup with Invacom quad polar?

Hi Again,

Some progress, I've been able to set up the dish/motor to lock on to 91 and 82 both with 99% quality but I'm so far unable to see any quality whatsoever on the 97.

For now I'm forgetting about the dual tuner until I find all he birds so The current setup is one line from a circular one from a linear output both going into a SW21 switch then a single line through the motor and on to the receiver. Does this sound like it would work?

As far as the settings in the receiver, I'm using the exact same as the 91/82 satellites except that the LO - 10750.

I'm wondering if I need to set the DISEqC setting to anything other than off?

Is there any other specific setting to the linear signal that I should consider?

Also I read somewhere that you don't need to set the skew because it is automatic skewed when he motor swings (which it appears to be). Is this true?

Thanks again if you can help!

For linear signal, try LNB type Universal. You will not be able to change the LO but this is OK. For now, leave DISEqC off.

Re: 360 Elite Setup with Invacom quad polar?

Hi thanks for the reply, I actually just got a connection to AM5 (finally!!) after a bit more reading I realized that I was searching for a transpnder that didnt exist!!! Oh well I've got a lock now but so far no picture. It just says "No Sercive or Scrambled"

I'm trying to watch a Globecast scrambled channel, I've installed the latest Rom as of V0149_Beverly_Fixed_081408 which has worked well for BEV. Is this rom supposed to be able to handle the Globecast channels on AM5 as well? or do I need to do something different for those.

I've set auto roll etc as per the guide in the sticky.

Thanks
