coming over to SV-360 Elite
So I'm a sad Coolsat 5000 guy that's looking closer at the Sonicview Elite 360 Dual-Tuner pvr -pheeeeeewwww
Got a few "Q's" for my soon to be new forum homies:
How's the support?
How's the PVR?
How's the EPG?
Do you have to have two lines from your dish to work the dual tuners?
Here's my set up (with TV):
33" dish
Invacom Quad LNB
2100 HH motor
JVC 36" tube TV
THANKS YAWLS

Re: coming over to SV-360 Elite
nice choice!
your going to need to feed 2 switches.one switch/line for each L and C port.so like an sw21 switch or 22kh switch or just a couple diseqc's.just so both tuners can each have an L&C port of the lnb.
and of course with a motor, your not as free with both tuners as a stationary dish in this case as im sure you figured out.as you will be restricted to just the one bird.but thats still very good,as your not stuck to same tp like most pvrs.so your still way ahead.
anyway, yeah, pretty basic and simple setup for ya there.
nice choice.enjoy!

Sounds great, thanks Arboristman.
My only concern is that I have my dish about 350 feet away from my receiver, I live on the side of a North/East facing hill, if I have to run two lines from my dish to my receiver it's gonna be tricky (I bought the super expensive cable for long distance LNB transmissions).
Is there a better USB/upload/PVR set up anyone could recommend for a motor set up like mine?
Just figured I cut to the chase here ;-)
THANX

Re: coming over to SV-360 Elite
i am really glad i purchased my elite.
sonicview support is usally on the first wave of files coming out.
epg and pvr for a fta box to me has been outstanding.on my box works 99% of the time so i don't want to kill myself
i have no experience in your dish set up.
no you don't have to run two cables as the elite has a loop thru funtion where you can connect tuner one to tuner two. i was running that way for awhile and it worked good but when i ran two cables it worked ALITTLE better. don't miss understand. two cables 99% loop thru 95% working good

Thanks Baron1, I'm really feeling the love for this receiver... I used to be a Coolsat 5000 guy, that was a sad story of a love gone bad! Sonicview sure seems to be loyal to their customers... that and a USB upload so I don't have to dig out the receiver and hike it up to my PC sounds really refreshing to me... the PVR is just an added bonus that I can't refuse! An upgrade is an upgrade right?

Re: coming over to SV-360 Elite
Another very satisfied Elite user here, and despite the unit being still very new, the glitches have so far been minor.
Normally I would worry that 350 feet was considerably beyond the allowable cable length range, especially for a motor setup, but if the special cable has allowed your Coolsat to do it, then the SV should be able to as well.
Happy viewing!
