I got 4 sats!
I made an awesome discovery today, and I hope this helps some of you.
I am currently getting 110/119 on a Dish Pro Plus. One line goes to my SV-360 (using a separator) and the other line goes to my Viewsat Pro.
Yesterday I added a 3rd dish for 91 (Nimiq1) following Arborismans sticky located here
http://www.abadss.com/forum/942-sv-3...th-tuners.html
The only difference is, when I added the 3rd bird I used an older Dish 1000 and a Dish Pro twin. (Not a DP Plus). I used these parts because they were spares I had lying around, and I know it is a bit overkill but it was better than forking out cash for new equipment.
I had some troubles tuning in 91W. I kept picking up 84W. I finally got pissed off enough so I set my skew to ZERO so I could better point my compass. I got strong signal on 91W finally. I tightened her down and did my sat scan.
Just out of curiosity, after I got in 91W channels, I went back to 84W on my remote, and to my surprise I had some signal.
I climbed back on the roof and played around until I got a fair signal on both sats (switching back and forth). When I was satisfied, I tightened her down.
I scanned one sat at a time, first on each tuner on my SV-360 then my Viewsat Pro.
By clicking on the "sat" button and choosing "all satellites" I have well over 1000 channels on 119/110/91/84 combined.
I know this is not a mistake because each time I switch channels it shows the satellite information and I get all 4 sats.
I hope this helps somebody. I am very happy! If DN goes down, I have Bev. If Bev goes down, I have DN. If they both go down, I have antenna and recorded PPV from my SV-360

Re: I got 4 sats!
so your saying, you have a dish pro plus twin for 119/110.and you connected a dish pro twin pointed at 91/82 into the lnb in port of the dpp twin(119/110) and your getting both 91 and 82 this way.
so you told the stb 91w is on port 3.what did you tell it for 82w? port 4?
and your sure your getting 82w channels?(name a couple please)

Re: I got 4 sats!
Port 3 for the 91/84 both. The 2nd dish is capable of picking up both sats if you straddle them. At least in my case. Port 1 and 2 is for the 110/119. I am not using port 4.
I am clicking one sat at a time, jumping from 91 to 83 and I can verify that I am getting them both. Watching them right now. On both receivers.
No duplicate channels either.

Re: I got 4 sats!
Ok, here is an example.
When I click on the "sat" button and choose Nimiq2 and go to channel 100, I get some channel in French and it says "Nimiq2" in the bottom right on my Viewsat Pro.
When I click on the "sat" button and choose Nimiq1,3 and go to channel 100, I get radio Canada. And it says "Nimiq 1,3 on the bottom right.
All channels are different between 1,3 and 2.
Is there any other tests you like me to run?

Re: I got 4 sats!
well im not sure.see you only have one port left-#3(the lnb IN of the dpp)
so sure you can use the twin, but you must only be getting 91w(or 82w) at a time.
otherwise how could your stb know to switch between birds on port 3 see?
double check lynsat.com 91/82 and compare your channels.
it must have scanned 91 twice?

Re: I got 4 sats!
Man, I hope I am not wrong but why is it when I click different sats it shows the current sat I just chose in the info area? If I was picking up the same sat would it not show the current sat in the info bar regardless what sat I have it "set" on?
And why are the channels completly different when I switch from 91 to 84? They are not the same.

yeah, well you scanned nimiq2(82w) in antenna settings.so no matter what circular bird your pointed at,its going to show it as nimiq2 thats all.
the only way to confirm is to see for yourself if its 82w.
the channels are vastly different between the two birds.
when you scan 82w you will start seeing lots of HD channels scan in.
if your second dish is pointed at 91/82 combo, you can check the difference by running a very easy test.
remove the line going into the dpp twin, and connect this dish directly into your stb.
setup the twin as dish pro,and 91/nimiq1=diseqc #1 and 82/nimiq2=diseqc port 2
then you should see both birds, and the big difference between the channel lineup.(if of course truly pointed at both, which you probably are by the sounds of it tho)
Bell ExpressVu on Nimiq 2 at 82.0°W - LyngSat
Bell ExpressVu on Nimiq 1 at 91.0°W - LyngSat

Re: I got 4 sats!
well,if you do find out that your indeed getting some channels on both birds, that would be the fault in trying to run a twin rather than a dp dual in this case,it might try to scan in on both ports-i dunno lol.iv figured you might be able to run a twin, but the results might not be the best.tho port 3 of the internal switch should comply and stay with the lnb in settings,so not really sure what your getting there yet.
id guess just 91w 2 times, you have no way to tell the internal switch of the twin to switch over to port 4 like this see?
dunno, keep checking buddy, its fun trying just the same.

Re: I got 4 sats!
It's getting dark here now, so I will have to do this tomorrow evening.
One fault I do see though, my EPG will not populate on the SV-360, worse so on tuner 2. Not all that great on tuner 1 either but 2 is a lot worse.
Probably a signal issue
