Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

I am using the SV360 Elite and have the settings in the user setup area as my local state and city. I also had to set the time to -5:00 to get the correct local time. (eastern standard)

The problem is I cannot see my local nor a bunch of other "W..." type other area locals. I get some but not all. For instance WOIO i cannot see. It displays NO SIGNAL but when I look at the sat setup on that bird and the 12661 i have 99 Q.

On both sats i have a signal of about 72 and q of 99 - 100

The LNB is a DPP with the following settings:

119/echo 7:
LNB type: DPP separator
LNB frequency: 11250
22khz.: off
LNB power: on
transponder : 12239
search options: all
network search: on
Diseqc : port 1
motor: disable
legacy switch: off

110/echo 8,x:
LNB type: DPP separator
LNB frequency: 11250
22khz.: off
LNB power: on
transponder : 12224
search options: all
network search: on
Diseqc : port 2
motor: disable
legacy switch: off

How did the scan initially find these channels then i get nothing now?

How do I erase all the channels and rescan the two birds with this stb?

thanks
omzig

OCS-DP in the lnb you want to use.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

When I changed the lbn to seperate and ocs-dp I still couldnt get them plus then i lost WGN (239) because it said "no signal or scrambled".
I changed back to dp seperator which then defaults to dpp, which is correct for my lbn. It is a DishPro Plus (DPP)

I get everything else is seems. all movie ch, ppv, espn, fox etc just missing alot of "w" channels and all my locals

When it does a sat scan it looks at all transponders? Why then on the setup do you manually pick 12224 or 12239 etc?

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

Go to your antenna setup for the satellite you want to delete and on the bottom you will find the Delete Satellite.
Are you using any type of power inverter for your DPP?
Remember the DPP requires power for the switch to your properly, either from a sub receiver or a power inverter in the line.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

The Sonicview 360 has enough power to run the DPP from what i have read.

I got the setup from a thread on here
http://www.abadss.com/forum/942-sv-3...th-tuners.html

I do not have a seperator yet to use the second tuner in the stb so I am just using tuner 1

I'd be interested to know if other who have this setup
(SV360 with DPP 500 dish) have the same problem.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

I dont know what these numbers all mean but all my locals are
on echo 8 12661 21500 V.
When I view the channel the Q is zero.
But when I go to the sat setup and pick echo 8 , transponder 12661 i have 99 for Q.

I dont get why in the sat setup i seem to have a good signal and Q but then when i try to view the channel on that sat at the transponder i get nothing. What does the 21500 V mean?

I even tried changing my local to a differant state and still nothing.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

setting the state and city only changes the channel number to what they are in your area(example i have mine set to my city-channel number for one of my locals is 2(CBS) but the channel number for 2 after scan is 7620(CBS) so the 7620 will change to 2 when epg comes up and all the other locals in your area. are you living in area that are your locals like do you live in portland trying to receive hometown channels from st. louis or do you live in portland trying to pick up portland.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

never heard of a speacial file for locals.never used one on my elite for all the locals i get.

try doing a factory reset, reload latest file(150p),redo settings and push red button to scan each sat separatly. write down or remember your settings before you do it.

Yea tried that a little while ago.
I've had a few more thoughts.
Could the DPP need more current than the 360 is providing. I noticed a few of the channels in the local area (8000's) have a low quality and display but are jittery. Even though I am locked in with a 99 Q on the sat setup screen.
I was considering if I run another 360 (premier) to the 2nd port on the dpp lnb wouldnt that give it more current? Or are the 2 ports completely seperate switches?

Also the rg6 cable I ran was from an older rca dss install kit and has printed on it 1850mhz which i think dn wants like 2200. Perhaps that is the problem. I do have some new direct burial cable coming soon.

Re: Not getting my locals and not getting other areas

i have the exact setup as you but running a separetor and all is good here. i noticed that on post 7 you said 8 12661 21500 V that is a high defination setting and your box will not pickit up. all my channels say
8 12661 20000 V that is standard definition setting.
