Help with dish pro 500+
Hi All,
I have a 30" dish pro 500+ (500 plus) dish already installed which came with the 147427 Dish500 plus LNBF Bock Assembly. This is a regular DP dual LNBF for 110 bird and a new FSS/DBS dual band LNBF for 119 and 118.7 bird (a different looking LNB) which are both mounted on an aluminium bracket. I dont have the FSS/DBS LNBF anymore. I wanted your opinion what LNBF I can replace the dual LNBF with to get the 119 and 129 channels, and how to fit it on the existing mounting bracket.
Will a DN pro plus twin LNBF work for this dish and the birds?
Thanks for the help

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
129 has a lot of hd channels and some locals. If you don't have a hd receiver then it's not really worth going after 129. Another point, with a 10 degree swing between 119 and 129, you will have to put 2 lnb's on, 1 just wont work. Google "lnb bracket".

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
Then which LNB Should I use? I got 129 initially and it has lot of PPV channels, would like to get those. Is there a LNB set that has the angle for 119 and 129 already taken care for? Will magic bracket work for t500+ dish and also 110, 119 and 129 birds?
Also, Dish 500 Y Yoke LNBF Adapter/bracket doesn't fit the arm of this dish, so I have to use the existing bracket. Please suggest an LNB and Bracket.

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
Do you have a "high def" receiver? A regular lnb from dish would work for 129. To get the lnb set taken care of you would have to upgrade to like a 1000.2 dish, or get a lnb bracket to add to your dish.

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
No, I have 360 Elite.
I don't want to change the dish as its already mounted and set and also have 34 switch installed and working. I will be happy if I can just get the 119 and 110. so if I can just put one more LNB of the bracket that should take care of 119 right?

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
Yes, you won't get many channels off 129 with that receiver. Just add an lnb to the spot you had your other lnb for 119,118. Is this your dish?

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
It would probably be easier to just get another 119,118 combo lnb.

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
That particular bracket is difficult to modify for the normal Circular LNBs. Which is what you need to get 119. The best bet would be for you to get the yoke for the 1000.2 Dish with the Tripple LNB and that way you will be able to get 119, 110 and 129.
However, you may try to mount the Circular LNB to where the 119/118 LNB is with some form of modification and get 119 on that LNB.

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
Is there a two in one kind of LNB, so that I can replace the 110 with one which will get both 110 and 119? or is there supposed to be a shift or angle between the two? is it possible to have an lnb which gives both 110 and 119/

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
You could pick up a dishpro quad pretty cheap, but they connect to the y yoke bracket that doesn't fit your dish arm. What's up with the bracket, why doesn't it fit the arm?

Re: Help with dish pro 500+
The arm on this dish (500+) is different from the dish500, first its longer and second its the same size as the yoke bracket, so the yoke bracket doesn't slide into the arm to be screwed onto it. Either I will have to use a bar with holes and mount the yoke on it, or find a way to mount the bracket on the arm.
