OK, need serious help.... please
I have a DN 500 Plus dish with three LNB's for 110 (DP single lNB), 119 (FSS/DBS dual band for 19 and 118.7) and 129 (DP dual LNB). all three LNB are connected by three wires up to a DPP44 switch and then connected to one SV 360 elite receiver. There is also a power adapter included to power the DPP44 switch.
I scanned all the birds and get the list of all the available channels.
My issue is after when I switch between channels, if one channel will have no signal then after that what ever channel I go to has no signal. If I hard reset the SV a couple of times, the signal comes back till I change channel to another one without signal and all channels go out again. I tried everything, I believe my dish is pointed right as after a power reset signal comes back very strong, also my EPG doesnt populate completely, there are only a few channels which has a day or 2 of EPG, most of them have none, including PPV's. I used the TP settings from the step by step guide from the sticky for SV360 E.
1. Is there a reason I keep hitting no signal, I am tired of reseting the power everytime a channel has no signal. this is totally random.
2. EPG doesnt populate
3. Also, not all the channels show up during scan
Please help with any info you have, I can't sleep good till I figure out the reason.....please help!!!!

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
I'm not using any switch setting as I am not using the disecq switch, I only have one connection coming out of the DPP44 switch to the back of the receiver. So the switch setting is off.
Thanks

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
dp-44 requires settings to be made in the menu in order to work properly. did your system ever work correctly? if so when was the last time that it worked properly?.

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Can you post your Signal and Quality readings. Also post your Sat settings for us to look at. Sounds like the switch may be your problem. If you have another one, I would replace it and then see if that fixes your problem. May also want to try loading the clean system file, then Jan bin and reenter sat settings and scan the sats again. You also realize we are losing a lot of channels to Nag 3...

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Yes, my system does work correctly, I can still watch some channels, it has been working, only problem is that if I change channel, sometimes signal goes and then I just have to reset power on the unit a couple of times and it starts working, my signal is around 70 and Q 100 for most of the channels that work.

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Is your DP44 powered? You said that it has a power inserter. So, make sure it is plugged in and is powering the DP44.
And what do you have for your disecq settings in your receiver? The DP44 is a switch and the settings must be correct. Post your disecq settings for each of the satellites and then we can go from there.

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Yes, the power insert is working fine and is powering the switch. The setting for switch are 'disabled' or 'off' on all birds since I figured I'm not using disecq. what should I set it to?

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Although only one output of the switch is used, the receiver should command the switch to select the apropriate LNB/Satellite. Therefore, the settings of the DPP44 switch should be the same as if you had a diseqc switch.
The receiver Diseqc Port number settings should mach the input connections for each LNB/Satellite like:
Diseqc Port 1 if the LNB for 110 is connected to DPP44 input port 1, and so on for all 3 LNBs, depending on which DPP44 input port they are connected to.
Note that the DPP44 is actually a type of multiswitch that enables connecting up to 4 receivers, however, each receiver controls the satellite selection exactly like having a single 4x1 diseqc switch conneted to it.

Well you didn't answer the question! Did it EVER work correctly?
You say it's working correctly right now!
So how come you're posting?
I will answer that for you, IT ISN'T working correctly!
So once again I ask you did it EVER work correctly?

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Believe it or not, its working, as in if I'm at a channel, it plays fine and all I have to do is change some channels and then the signal is lost (I'm lost in translation). but I read and read and I believe I figured out whats wrong with my settings.
I an using DPP44, first mistake I made was I didn't connect the right LNb in right port, 119 should be 1, 110 should be 2 and 129 should be 3 (I'm not using the 118.7 port on the dual lnb so not sure if I can leave it out) secondly I didn't choose the disecq settings and left it off.
I need to use the Disecq and use the right port numbers. hopefully that should make it work, right? did I miss anything? I will try this today evening when I go home, but my biggest problem will be the cables from the 110, 119 and 129 are running underground and I cannot tell which one is which by the time they get to the switch (my dish is like 100 ft from the switch due to trees).
Any ideas how to figure out which cable comes from which bird to get the ports right?
Thanks for all your help

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Alright, I was able to set the switch for 119 at port1 and 110 at port 2 and got all the channels, now I'm struggling with 129. I have a DP pro 500plus dish with the 110 119 and 118.7 and I mounted another bracket for 129 and it should catch the bird. This is connected to port 3 on DPP44, but if I look for the channels, it doesnt get anything, and it doesnt recognize any signal from this bird. please suggest what settings for the TP I need to use and what could be wrong???

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
Sounds like your bracket for that lnb is off, adjust it until you get quality. Hold it in your hand and adjust it around the dish until you pick up signal from 129.

Re: OK, need serious help.... please
I don't think DN 500 dish is big enough to catch 4 sats in a row. You may want to consider adding an 18" dish for 129.
