testing skyview 2000 pvr, signal and quality high, get only the nasa channel tho the guide populates. i don't think the usb stick method works cause the message reads channels scrambled even tho it uploads and reboots when stick is installed in port. was reading about the serial cable route but am confused about renaming. can you please explain

Re: jc7257
OK, lets try this. If you load with USB, and you say the file loaded, look and see what version is in the STB. Should be under menu / installation down to version information. If the file is there, your auto roll could be OFF. Check and see if it is on. If it is on, put on scrambled channel and wait till it rolls the keys. This could take 15-30 minutes. If the file is not there, did you extract it with winrar or winzip, file compression archive. The file must be extracted before you can load it. Erase the file and start over. Download the skyview file to desktop or my documents. Now, select the file, double click the file and it should open in the winrar/winzip screen. Highlight the file, now put your USB flash stick in your PC. It will be either drive E or F. Now click extract file at top of page and select the USB drive you have your stick plugged into. That s all there is to it. If this doesn't work, post back and we will try the loader with cable method...

Re: jc7257
Are you sure you are getting the latest version loaded on your STB. Look at version info and see. If you do not get the latest file, it will not work...

Re: jc7257
checked several times and it is the latest flash, i don't think it's taking the flash from the stick correctly, can you please explain how to use the serial cable. i can see the nasa channel and the dn service channel, all others are scrambled so it doesn't appear to be taking the flash. signal and quality are high on both sats and all the channel names are displayed. i am not sure of the serial procedure and don't want to mess it up further if somethings wrong with it. thanks for any help

Re: jc7257
You say you checked several times and it is the latest flash, and then you say it's not taking the flash? Check the version information on your STB. If the version number matches what you loaded, then it took the flash. You told me your auto roll is on. If it has the latest flash, and auto roll is on, then this is all you can do. It should roll the new keys with the new flash. If you have strong signal and quality, you are set up right, especially if you are seeing the NASA channel. I am pretty sure, your auto roll is not on. NASA is not scrambled, this is why you are getting it. It will take your box 15-30 minutes to roll the keys. Do a hard reboot and put on channel 140 and leave it there for 15-30 minutes...
