Is the Dish 500 capable of receiving 118.7 International Channels

Hi

I have a dish 500 set up to receive 110W and 119W. Is there a way to get 118.7 on the same dish or would I need to buy another dish. If its possible to get 118.7 on that same dish what would I need to get that done? I believe the set up currently uses Single Dish Pro DP Dual LNB LNBF. (But I could be mistaken).

My experience with this would be that the if you are looking to get 119 and 118.7, on the same dish you can't because they are too close. The 110 and 119 lnbs when pointed properly, are right beside each other, and they are 9 degrees apart. This is the same with B3v, 82, and 91, 9 degrees apart and the lnbs are directly beside each other when properly pointed.

no you can,t use the dish 500 for 118 you need a special line that comes for 118- 119 that is called a circular lnb and you needa 30+dish at the minium you can try getting a superdish i think is the 1000+dish depending on where you live with the 1000+ dish you will be able to get 110- 118-119-and hd 129 and if you want only 118-119 all you need is a circular lnb and a 30+ dish with freq-10750 hope it helps good luck and godbless.

A Dish 500 Plus or a Dish 1000 Plus would give you what your are looking for.
I would go for the 1000 Plus in addition to 110, 119, 118.7 you also get 129.
If you have or plan on getting a HD STB the 1000 Plus would be a better option IMHO.

dalbomb the different between the 500 is 18 inch dish used for 110 -119 or 82-91 and the 500 plus is a little bigger and egg shape i think the only different is the size of the dish and lnbs other then that mostly the same ,hope it helped .just my thinking and god bless.

I have a dish 300 and a dish 500 one was pointing at 110, 119 and the other at 61.5 and since 61.5 was moved to 118.7 I was trying to figure out how to get the same channels with the least amount of work and purchases. I was also wondering if there was anything that I could do with the dish 300?

nope,like i mention above go for the 1000 plus dish it comes with those three lnb and dish you can probably get it on ebay for about 100 bucks good luck and god bless.?

if all you people would read you would know that yes you can get 118,119 & 110 with a dish 500.

sorry buddy it depend where you live from there you look for the size of dish you need there people that can get 118-119 with a 24 inch dish there some that need 30 or bigger in order to get 118 .7 just my thinking and god bless.

I'm thinking of getting a motorized dish. Does anyone know if those could handle new england weather. Will they get me 110,118.7, 119, bev and fta?

Get as large a dish as you have the space for and make sure you have that sucker's mast firmly planted in the ground. Those large 39"+ dishes can catch some serious wind. If you go the motor route, get the one that is all steel, no plastic parts, it will serve you well.
