How do you change video format to Component (R,B,G)?
I can't seem to find any info. on the forums re: changing the video signal options.
I have a Plasma that runs at 1080i and I have my 360 plugged into the component Red, Blue, Green cables.
However, it is showing that the STB is out of range (720p), what button on the remote allows me to scroll through to select the proper video format?

Check your tv manual first about getting sd signals on a hd tv. Also try the s-video
output to your tv. Most hd tv's switch automatically to the signal they get. What brand is your tv?

i don't think the 360 premium has a output of 1080. might have to get hd box or a A/V receiver that will convert 720 to 1080. i have a toshiba theater view with the component (red, blue, green) and it is called colorstream.

Buy the way, as baron1 said, your 360 is not capable of recieving or sending a signal
of 720 or higher because that is the realm of hi-def. You will have to be happy with a sd signal but I've noticed that Nimiq has a few powerfull transponders in sd format that almost rival hd signals in clarity and sound. To have a hi-def tv with a sd signal is like using a match in a dark room compared to turning on the lights.

I have a SVA TV. My TV automatically searchs for a signal as you switch through each video input. On my Captain 8000 STB I have to select (step) the right video format for it tune in properly. So the 360 should have the same or at least some setting that I need to change for it to automatically find the right video resolution.

Well guys, if that is the case that's a huge let down. If I had known I probably would not have bought this unit. Live and learn!

it may be a bummer now but it is a good box with good support so you can use it in another room if you want

Re: How do you change video format to Component (R,B,G)?
Although my hands-on experience is limited, I was under the impression that all HD TV's automatically examined the incoming signal and if necessary "downshifted" to accommodate lower incoming resolutions. After all, how could you use a VCR with one, or off-air SD broadcasting?
Must meditate more......
