Recording to usb?

Ok pluged my usb stick into the front usb slot of my sv360 it the record button and now I plugged it into my computer and the file shows up as idx file. Question is did I do this right and how do I view what has been recorded onto my usb stick?

You can watch this on your tv through your sv360. You must install a player or converter to see it on your pc . Hope this helps .

also to add to the thread is that it shows up on my computer as 3 different files on the usb stick.

Video stream files are actually a collection or family of files, contained in a separate folder for each recording. When transferring to a computer for format conversion or dubbing to DVD, one must be careful to pick up the entire folder. The IDX file contains chaptering information; the IFO has all the techie bits relating to how it was recorded. There may be a TXT file which has the info from the EPG at the time of recording. And the "real" video and audio are in the large TRP file(s). There may be more than one of these because FAT32 does not accommodate files larger than 2Gb so a long movie will be split up.
