? when i record a movie/show the reciever goes to that channel locking it in untill the recording is over. is there anyway i can watch a different channel while i record on another one?

nope sorry ,that how it works, if you wanted to watch other channels while recording ,you should have purchased the sonicview 360 elite, your premier has only one tuner, where as the elite has dual tuners so it is possible to record one channel and still watch other channels.

Should have got the SV-360 Elite. The dual tuners are great. While your watching your favorite sports programming, your wife, girlfriend, better half can record the show she wants to watch. Then when your all through with your show, just hit the USB device and watch her show. The premier is a great STB, but with the one tuner, you have to watch the same channel you record. But, you can record the show while your sleeping and watch it later...

you can watch a channel while recording but it has to be in the same tp that the channel you are recording is in ..
