Ihub and Ihpone tether

I am not using an iphone but the tmobile version of if. Though this I can turn my phone into peer-peer wireless access. I connect to it just like i connect to an other wireless router. I am trying to use this connection to set up an ihub on a 360 premier.

I have followed every toutorial and tried every variation that I have come across with no success.

Firstly under network connections i have shared the wireless network connection and run the Network Setup Wizard. I have also turned off the windows firewall. I am not aware of any other firewalls that I have.

With the hub connected to my computer through the lan my ipconfig is:
Ethernet adapter Local area connection--
ip add--192.168.0.1
subnet--255.255.255.0
Gateway---nothing shown

Ethernet wireless network connection
ip add--192.168.2.103
subnet--255.255.255.0
Gateway---192.168.2.254

Please note the differences in the ip addresses.

Current settings on STB are
setting type: DHCP
local ip: 192.168.0.1
local port: 80---have tried 1920 as well
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.254-have also tried 192.168.2.254
use dns: no--also have tried yes
server ip:77.93.75.89
(when use DNS is set to yes server ip changes to domain name: /www.svftaiks.com/
dns ip: 192.168.0.1-pretty sure i have tried other setting here but cant remember which
server port: 80--again have tried 1920 as well
serial is correct

Wiznet does find the dongle and cna read and write to it.
From ipconfig I can ping 192.168.0.1 and do recieve all 4 packets back.
Watching the transfer of data I can see when the ihub is plugged in data is being both sent and recieved. however this may be only from pinging. the ihub lights do come on when connected and the mac addres tells me that my ihub is not a clone, I hub version 1.4

I do get 99% signal and quaility on all satelites. I can pick up channels like 100 and such. I am wondering how long it take for the units to decrypt of whatever they do from the time the setting are correct. Is it instant or does it take a while to get service?

I am unsure of where to go from here. I am wondering if a wireless connection can be shared by connecting to the wireless network and having the ethernet cable pulgged into the computer. Please any help would be appreciated. thank you in advance.

BTW in my neighborhood there is not cable so we are stuck with rabbit ears for now. We are dying here with only 5 channels on a daily basis.

Re: Ihub and Ihpone tether

ok just a few things i do notic on your ihun ipconfig your local ip should be a provate ip not the gateway address so it looks like it is just hooking there .. if you check your router which i see is a dlink look for the ip addresses there this is where your problem looks like it is coming from

ok lets start again

setting type dhcp
local ip - 192.168.0.1 it should be in the private range not gateway like 192.168.0.100 ok
local port -1920 in your router did you port forward this or put the ip in the dmz zone ???
subnet is good 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1 this is what it should be the routers ip(dlink)
use dns YES
Domain www.svftaiks.com that is cool
dns ip this should be you gateway again 192.168.0.1
server port 1920

serial what is is brother
apply the restart from the rear and then double check if it changes then your setting in the router or in your phone it should still be the same as your router dependng if you are using your internet or the phones tower net not sure how they work so sorry about that ..

well hopefully i gave you something to try

post back gooood luck my friend

Re: Ihub and Ihpone tether

Holly crap! After about 8 hours of messing and hacking I was able to connect my rooted phone using wireless tethering to a Linksys WRT54GS V5 router. The router is then set as a client bridge that then connects to the Ihub. So we have STB->Ihub->Linksys->wireless connection to phone (mine is a mytouch by tmobile but I am sure that any similar phone would wourk)

I will post everything later. Not that I have accomplished my goal I can rest and go work on my boat.

Good work, you are one determined individual. Your working on you boat next? If you work on your boat like your IPhone project, you might end up with this.
